The other wierd thing is that you can look around on xbox when in tactical pause. you cannot do that on PC. it makes me sad.

I plan to go PC as soon as I have one again (only having a laptop right now). I can play my classes without problems on Xbox but as I'm a native PC player I miss the mouse aiming obviously. I was wondering though if you can't change the controls in the PC version. WASD for example might be fine for most players, I absolutely hate it and play QWES since forever in any shooter and also like to put a lot of commands on my mouse keys. I hope you can do that in ME2 because default keys usually never work for me.
Yes, you can rebind keys. For instance I've changed shift and capslock to quick slot keys so that in combination with the two thumb buttons on my muse and the clickable mouse wheel I have easy access to 5 abilities without having to move my hands from their default lay on the keyboard. Helps with no pause gameplay immensely.

That gives me 6 shortcuts with very little finger movement on the keyboard. I also use hotkeys 1 and 2.
Finally, I use "F" for my sprint/activate/general action key and space for my melee. It works better for me.

Last time I used a trackball for FPS's was the original Quake. Killed my thumb, too.

If you play offensive powers-dependent classes, you're going to love the mass key mapping system. Beats the power wheel and single key mapping from the console version..

me2 on Xbox doesn't look bad actually. I really pity the DAO console players. They really got the shaft.
Agreed. ME2 looks and works just fine on the xbox, but from what I can tell DAO even crashed on the xbox and takes much longer to get the newest patches as well. Can't use player-made mods either, which means that a number of issues will remain unfixed (because the devs sure don't seem to be fixing them).
I'm quite happy playing ME2 on the xbox, but I'm glad I got the PC version of DAO.

E - Melee
F - Sprint/use/cover
Space - Tactical menu
Tab - Map
And so on. I typically use 1-4 for personal abilities, 5-8 for companion abilities, and leave Unity off the quick bar as I so seldom use it anyway.
Other than that, the only reason to use the tactical menu for pausing, is to send orders to the group or to change weapons. And the only game mode demanding enough to require ordering your group, is insanity.
As someone else said, you only need two weapons most of the time anyway. Typically it's AR / Pistol or AR / Rifle. Or in the case of my main adept, SMG / Pistol. Where I rarely need to swap to a third weapon or HW. But I do agree that ME2 could've used a similar key system to ME1 where you could actually bind the weapon keys to something. I used to have mouse button 4-5 on pistol and rifle, with scroll wheel up / down on shotty / AR.
But yeah, I've tried since N64 and Golden Eye / Metroid to get used to FPS controls with a console, but I just can't. It's incredibly clunky compared to PC. Similarly, regardless of how I tried, a beat-em-up is just too damn clumsy with a keyboard. Need a pad for that.

this explains how to change sensitivity and how to remove mouse acceleration from your game. But even if you did that, your Windows still has mouse acceleration enabled(all have in default).
Theres a file called CPLMousefix for windows xp, and a file called cheese mouse fix for windows 7. i have both in my ftp. you can get it from this link: ftp.unreal.ie/hosted_sites/clanbase/hektor/misc/
You basically need to change some registry entries in your windows, but if you download those files, you have a .reg file wich does that automatically, just double click and select yes. You should be fine after a reboot... Dont worry, it wont make any harm to your system.

Use a better mouse. One with adjustable dpi. That takes care of the sensitivity issue. Ball based mice are sooooo 1988.
I'm using a mouse which is probably under £20/euros/dollars now. Logitech thingy with mouse sensitivity adjustment on the fly. Takes a little getting used to, and I mean a little but it's also considerably more ergonomic than a normal mouse. Goes up to insanely high DPi, or down if you go that way. Until it feels like your shifting lumps of lead round the screen.
If you decide to stick with PC gaming it's a GREAT investment.
If you have a nice rig, crank it up, the game looks fantastic (glitches aside) run with everything maxed. Though the bloom is a bit excessive. Once you get used to ignoring that Miranda literally glows, it's fantastic anyway.
