So Leandra Hawke has gone from an old grayhaired hag to a 25 year old hottie?
Yes... I guess you could say that.

We don't know how old she is...Remember that people in the middle ages already got married and had kids when they where 15-16, and since Hawke and his siblings are around 20-25, she probably is in her 30's or 40's. And I know some man and woman those ages that don't have a full head of gray hair.Johnny Shepard wrote...

Let's talk about Hawke's Father (PapaHawke still doesn't have a name, does he?) and the Hawke family.
It has been said on some other threads that both the Amell family (a nobel family) and the Hawke family have strong roots in Kirkwall. I'm guessing that the Hawke's are better known for their magic powers, maybe they are even infamous for it.
But with the description of Parthalan saying that Parthalan united Ferelden, and then disappeard...
I wonder if that means if the Hawke mages are treated differently...
Also, does anybody else gets the feeling that Parthalan was an elf? Whenever his name pops up, I just picture that he is an elf...I don't know why.

Seeing as a child between an elf and a human is always human.

That would certainly be an interesting twist I hadn't suspected. Heck, what if Orsino is a relative?
That....Would really be a twist, yes.
And it might even give Hawke another reason to help the mages.

Was anything ever confirmed about his fate? Is he locked up the Circle tower, or dead? If dead, was it templars that did it? I'm also curious about what role Hawke's mother will play. Personally I think it would be good if she had a role in the story, and perhaps if you could bring her special items for crafting (like Dworkin in Awakening), then she'd have a tie to the general gameplay too.

It was confirmed by the devs that Hawke's father died, though not how he died.ReallyRue wrote...
I'm hoping Hawke's father gets mentions in the game. It'd be poor if it was one of those games where you only ever seemed to have one parent because no one mentions the other. Based on the Origin stories of the first game though, and the fact that Hawke's dad was a mage (and mages are important in DA2) I imagine he'll be mentioned. I wonder if it causes conflict when Hawke tries to claim his/her rights as part of the noble family in Kirkwall.

Maybe you can talk about the cause of his death with your family. I hope they've got little stories to tell, especially with your siblings, because Bethany and mageHawke were taught magic by him, right?

Yes he taught them magic, though I don't know how he died...I think he left Hawke and the family for their safty or something, and then died. But the fact that he left is just a rumour, so don't trust me on that. As for stories, that would be nice.ReallyRue wrote...

In the demo you can see a Codex entry about Hawke.Kidxv wrote...
I'm sure there's bound to be mentions, even if it's as simple as "hawke's dad blew up due to sneezing while casting a fireball" to explain away his absence
And it says that your father, Malcom Hawke, died 3 years prior to the story.
How though, is still not explained.

Or is it just an assumption?
Which is a logical one, but still she returns to Kirkwall.
So there must be family that have forgiven her.

"Appearently her maiden name is Ammel,or was it Amell? But anyway, she is a noble of some sort and her family owns estates in Kirkwall."
Her Family owned an estate but during her absence, her brother, your uncle, gambled it away to some smugglers. you spend the first act trying to get enough gold to make yourself important enough in society to get your estate and titles back, n far as I know, they have no other living relatives.
"Did Father Hawke marry Mother Hawke? I mean she took his name, but marrying an apostate? Wouldn't that bring shame to the Amell name? I mean she still seems to think she is in good favour with her family in Kirkwall, so maybe she kept it hidden from them."
Yes she did, the Hawke family has always had a lil magic in their blood, that made them kind of a lesser family to the others (since magic is hated more than usual in kirkwall) and Hawk's mom was meant to marry some higher class nobleman but ended up marrying Hawke's dad. This shamed her in the eyes of her family, as it was hard enough to be thought well of with only a lil magic in the bloodline. they disowned her and she left for ferelden (meaning she met him in kirkwall or around there). She returned home to find out that they'd left everything to her brother in their will...though he didn't have this will to show you. You and your sibling went to the old house and found the will, showing that in their last moments, Hawke's grandparents forgave their daughter and left her everything in their will. so yah, she married hawke, didn't keep it a secret, they disowned her but forgave her before they died.
"And how would Father Hawke and Bethany stay away from the Templars? Would they be constantly moving from town to town? Or would Father Hawke just leave from time to time, to lead the Templars away. I mean Bethanys powers wouldn't awaken until she was what ten-eleven years old?"
They did run away, they left as soon as they could to go to Fereldan and settled in Lothering. Lothering only had a tiny chantry and they quickly ammassed a lot of farm land (probabbly due to all the gold Hawke's mom could bring back with her). so Hiding Bethany (and maybe hawke's) magic would be easy as they would be allowed their privacy and with Hawke's dad so used to hiding his magic from the zealot psycho Kirkwall templers, hiding it from Lothering's Templers would of been a breeze
n sorry, I no idea what their names are either, though if you played DA:O as a mage, apprently that mage would be somehow related to Hawke's dad. idk if that's as siblings or cousins or what but I doubt it's anything like Hawke being the son of the grey warden, but since as a mage you never hear anything about your family, Uncle Grey Warden could be possible
