This might be helpful to some of you.
I was having this message appear every time I started up the game, restoring my settings to the defaults every time. It didn't seem obvious to me at first, because I was focusing on the word "profile", but I fixed it by simply deleting the "Options" file (first on the list) under (XMB) Game>Saved Game Data>Dragon Age:Origins>. The next time I started the game, no error message, and everything appears to be working fine otherwise.
I guess this wouldn't help those whose actual save files have become corrupted, though. I can only assume that some of the game options have changed with the last couple of patches and that's what the game is detecting as "corruption" in this case.
"Your profile data has been corrupted" (what worked for me)

The only time i ever got that message was after playing Awakenings.
When you start playing the Awakenings DLC, the options switch to Awakenings. Unfortuantely, DA:O and all the other DLC only work with the regular DA:O options.
How do i know this to be true? Well, even when it said it reset my options after giving me the corrupted data message, it would stay the same. I'd then exit the game, and wala....still with Awakenings options.
It's just a simple matter like you said to delete the options, and you are back in business.
That being said, i wonder if Bioware can put the fix on that? It's not really all that annoying once you know you need to just delete the options data, but if a Witch Hunt patch is in the works...wouldn't it be nice to see it fixed as well?

Very interesting. I was getting the message before I even purchased/downloaded Awakenings, though. In fact, I did so before I figured out my fix, thinking it might make the problem go away if I did (though I was going to get it at some point anyway). I have yet to start actually playing Awakenings, by the way, so I still think it has more to do with the patches than the DLC itself.
Either way, thanks for the warning that I might run into the problem again once I start Awakenings. (I'm starting a second play-through of Origins first.)
And I agree, it would be great if they could fix this in the next update/patch, but I would imagine something like this, merely an annoyance and not a game-breaker, is probably considered low on the list of priorities, and who knows how long that list is now with DA2 slated for release early next year?
