I want to know if we will have a place of our own. We have a party chest in DAO at the peak, but why not give us our own place to call home. If people not in our party go back to thier lives and jobs, why can't we have a place to leave personal stuff other than a chest in wardens peek or at vigil keep. Having this would explain how the crows stole our sword. Unless we are allways dressed for battle. If we are to become champions, I've bought a home and have a family. I just tired of sleeping in the woods. I need get cleaned up and rest why can't I rent a room at an inn.

Aye, after killing 1000 zombies, and slashing heads of 1000 darkspawn, even the mighty Hawke needs to lay back and have his nutella.

Isn't there a mod for that? But seriously, as nice as an own house would be, is it really important? I mean how much time are you planning to spend at home? I mean, in a game ...

How much time did you plan to spend at your camp in DA:O? A lot of companion interaction happened in camp. While your companions probably won't be hanging out around the Hawke house, I'm sure your family will be there, and you can interact with them. And you'll probably also have a storage chest there, as well.

I love houses in RPGs if they're done right and not just a cosmetic tacked-on afterthought.

If I'm going to be a legend, then I would expect to have a legendary home.

It doesn't have to be overly elaborate. Just a place you can store your stuff and your character can (presumably) sleep/live. If the story is going to span over a decade, it'd be nice to know that my Hawke isn't spending the times when we aren't adventuring living in a crate down by the river. Posted Image

You will have a place to call your own. More info on that later, probably. Maybe. If we're nice. ;)

Nifty.  Thanks for the info.  With luck we'll be able to actually use the home in a significant way on an intermittent basis.

I hope there's more to Hawke than just the (potentially bearded) combat badass.

I'd like to get on good terms with someone through persuasive argument over drinks at my mansion rather than volunteering to clear their garden shed of a pesky kobold infestation. Or rather, I'd like to have the choice to do either.

If the First Warden wants us to become as prominate as possiable to show why wardens are needed more than just to fight a blight. The only way i see to do it is to become illustrious, or imfamous, and have major influence. I hope we are working to becomming the first warden.

Well some dialogues you could trigger on the road and some you could in any location, like an inn or market or wherever people are when they are not at home. I mean it probalby isn't alot of work to do a 'home' instance just like in DA:A, but still I find it a bit wasted effort. Esp. since modders probably gonna do one or improve it.

Exactly--if you've settled in Kirkwall, it makes sense that you would actually own a home there, be it humble or grand.

After going on a long quest Hawke comes back to find that his house has been repossessed by the Kirkwall housing administration and has to go on a super quest of filling out forms and queuing to get it back

I don't think there's been any indication that Hawke will even BE a Warden.  We've been told that the Wardens are on the sidelines in this game.

I suggest trying to bribe the writers with pies - perhaps banoffey/banoffee ones.

Well I'm glad the Champion of Kirkwall won't be living in a van underneath the Imperial highway overpass down by the Waking Sea at least. Or can we? I demand Homeless Hobo Hawke! :)

/sorry, that was ripe for the picking

But Kirkwall sort of seems like it may be more like an expanded camp almost, with the followers likely being in and around the city, plus Hawke having some sort of living arrangements there. Now if Kirkwall is big like Athkatla in BG2, that would be very cool.

I just hope we get to do our fair share of exploring outside of the city too. On that topic, I wonder if we still have camp when exploring out of Kirkwall, to heal up injuries and such?

I don't see much point in Hawke having a house even mentioned unless in offers a minigame or functional purpose...such as what town you dicide to settle down in affects the way things in the story or something.
