human years = dog years * 7
translates into:
dog years = human years / 7
So if you want to give your age in dog years, you plug in your age to the latter equation, and you get your age in dog years.
I'm 34, in human years so that would be 34 / 7 ~= 4,86 dog years.
7 isn't a great approximation. To get a more accurate value of your age in dog years, you can use this graph:
