On the left side, where we hover over What's New, Profile, My Content, etc., create a Category called "Favourites" where we can put the things we like to go to most often ...
Have an option inside Profile Update to define those places. Limit of 5-7 would probably be ok, if a limit was required.
Suggestion: Favourites

You will need more than 5 or 7, I often over filled the 100 topic limit we had in the other Bioware forums. But I have asked for something like this several times and I just get told to use the subscription button. Problem with that is, I never know when some replies unless I turn on email notification, and also, there is no subscribe button in groupd disscussions.

You can subscribe to the whole group instead. It's not exactly the same but I think it's more efficient than BioBoards' My Topics (because it tracks all posts, including new threads).Jassper wrote...

Subscribe to a group is no different than not subscribing. Subscribed groups don't show when you select Forum - My Subscriptions. You can already sort groups by "My groups" but you must go to each individually and check for new post or new replies. There is no way to track a new reply without actually going to that thread and checking for a reply. Very inefficient. There are several post that I have lost track off already and I think this is going to have an impact on those trying to get help on the forums.
With the "my Topics" from the old forums I could log in - check replies - and log out and go back to work. Now I must sort threw all types of crap, track down (and remember) my postings and check for a reply not only on the forums but in the groups as well. This is very time consuming.

But it still notifies you of updates, even if the method isn't optimal. I do agree that it would be better if the group discussions worked similarly to the regular forums.

I just subscribed to this thread, and like many others, I suspect I will not receive notifications when someone responds to this. That aside, while I hear what is being said in these replies, there are many times when I just I could just "click once" or "click quickly" to the 3-5 topics that I am mostly dealing with at any point in time. In my case, the discussion boards for 2-3 groups and a few threads in these forums are the items I would put into that "favourites" or "quick list".
