The Song Game-Battle of the Bands- (Game 2) : If you didn’t play the previous Battle of the Bands this is the basic run down of how it will be played. I'm starting with a list of 120 Bands from the Band Recruitment thread which will be broken up into 3 'Rounds'. Each round will have a list of 40 Bands. From that list you can, depending on the phase of the game, Hurt, Heal, or Hurt and Heal on each of your turns. You get one turn every 12 hours so only post after your previous turn says at least "created about 12 hours ago." The game goes until all bands but one are eliminated.
Rules are as follows:
1. Each Phase will determine the time you must wait between turns.
2. There will be phases to the game, some benchmarks, and a couple time limits. Just to keep things moving and to break up monotony.
3.There will be a section marked "copy with each turn" and I'd like to see that part copied along with the list of Bands so new players can dive right in, hopefully.
4. No badgering other players, no insulting Bands on the list endlessly (some fun is ok, but bashing repeatedly will be frowned upon), no waxing endlessly on the reasons your favorite Band is losing or your least favorite Band is winning.
Now, onto the phases of the game.
PHASE ONE: BUILD UP
This time Bands will not start with ANY points!
In the first Phase of Battle of the Bands, each player on their turn can spend 4 points to heal a Band. There is no hurting in the first round. This will see that only Bands who prove popular to at least someone get points. Those 4 points can go all to 1 Band, spread out 1 each to 4 Band, or any range in-between. Each Band can only reach a max of 40 points before no more points can be added to them. Phase One will end when 12 Bands have reached 40 points. Any Bands that failed to receive any points during this round will be automatically eliminated and will not move on to Round 2.
PHASE TWO: HURT OR HEAL
Bands come into this round with their totals from the previous round.
Each player on their turn has 4 points to spend. These points can be used to hurt a Band on the list, heal a Band, or any combination of the two, as long as the player spends no more than 4 points. There are no limits to how high a Band can get this round, though once at 0 a Band is eliminated. This round will last One Week from when it begins.
PHASE THREE: TEAR DOWN
Bands come into this round with their totals from the previous round, all eliminated Bands remain eliminated.
Each player on their turn can spend 4 points hurting characters on the list. A player can spend all 4 on hurting one Band, 1 point each to hurt 4 separate Bands, or any range in-between. There is no healing in this round. This round will last until all but one band is eliminated.
After Phase 3 of Round 1 I will edit the title of this thread & change it to The Song Game- Battle of the Bands (Round 2). The same rules will apply.
The game starts now, and the next post will be the one that should be copied each round until the next phase starts at which point the post will change to reflect the new rules (to keep people from getting confused.)

EDIT: (side note) Linkin Park, U2, Radiohead, NIN, Motorhead, Blind Guardian, The Ramones, Tool & Slayer were played in game 1 so they were removed from the suggestions list. Also, there were more than 150 suggestions so I had to cut some of them to get it down to 120; but, everyone has at least 1-2 bands appearing in various Rounds of the game
