I bought MassEffect 2 thinking this was a new game.  Much to my suprise, it appears to be identical to Mass Effect (1).  Thinking I needed to download the new episode, I activated the Cereberus Network. The download page listed one download without much description.  I don't appear to have enough "BioWare points."   There is a "Buy" button, but why do I need to buy content when I have already paid for the game?  I must be doing something wrong or lack any  understanding of what I purchased.  Would someone please explain how I get the NEW Mass Effect 2 game content:(?

you must buy bioware points via credit card, once you have the points, use them to buy the content.

then go to your bioware social account-profile-your registered game promotions, dowload it and install.

You've got to be kidding? I paid $26 for Mass Effect 2 and now I've got to pay more for game content different from Mass Effect ! I was totally deceived by the publication date of Sept, 2010, thinking this was a stand-alone new game.

ME2 is a stand-alone game. I don't know how you are getting that it has the same content than the first Mass Effect because it continues the story, it has different combat mechanics, and a lot of new characters. The DLC is optional if you want more missions.
