Finally PS3 patch is live and I've been able to finish Witch Hunt and get a proper autosave in the end. I shall treasure this autosave and later on import it to DA2.
Is the fix for console coming as a patch? If so, I have yet to get it. In the US.

Under stand that, but not exactly what I asked either. Does it come in the form of a patch or do we need to re-download it as was done with the PC users?

I have been a Bioware fan and supporter since the days of Baldur's Gate, back when they sold complete games. BIOWARE, BRING BACK YOUR INTEGRITY! Make the DLC's free, or include them in the game. You know you have them complete or nearly complete when the game launches, stop trying to bleed more money out of your supporters. Please and Thank You.

If Bioware did that they would eventually loose and go broken at the end. As a fan, would you see that to happen? And all of the DLC's are planned yes, but that doesnt mean that they got time to put it in the final product. Many of the contents are beeing made after launch, rehashed or not.
You know you're giving the money to a company's future? By giving them money through DLC you're also giving them a reason to continue they're products and ideas, and if you dont like it, dont buy it. Simple as that. I dont see any problem with DLC's, but the problem is that many developers dont care for the patch support and the quality of the DLC. Seriously, if something is broken, then fix it...or better, if it's not ready for a realse, then dont release it...even if the superiors are saying so.
Bioware is on the lazy side on fixing stuff. But then again i guess that's decision is up for they're superior, EA games to make. I'm still annoyed that the problems in Awakening is not going to get fixed, or at least not for now, even when they addressed them months ago.

As a story, (not talking about "patches or fixes") Dragon Age was "complete when released". Nothing in any of the DLC or expansion pack is core to the game or its narrative arc. Except for having the game's program files, neither the expansion nor any of the DLCs depend on having anything else (not even having played the basic game.)Zyrista wrote...

So remind me what it is, exactly, that you don't like about both BioWare for creating, and those who chose to continue their enjoyment of the DA environment with another "hour, or two" of additional game? I just don't see how someone else's fun merits your scolding. It's not as if any essential part of that fun is being denied to those who do not chose to spend their money on the DLC, is it?

What does the endgame autosave look like? I get 'checking game data' for a second before the credits start rolling. Is that it? Please tell me I'm good before I eat my DA game disc in frustration after all this bug hunting...

Autosave (1) - The Nest
(or VERY similar to that wording)
If that's there, that's the one.

Okay, so I'm still screwed. Morrigan works now but no autosave. Hope the impact on DA2 is just something trivial and cosmetic..

NOTE: You can't actually Play from that save. If you try it'll just start from the point where it was made -- and roll the credits. It only exists to provide the status of the Warden's relationship with Morrigan going into DA2. (Which, if you like or prefer, can also come from the end of DA:O.)Variant9 wrote...

@Daddy314: It's a usual 30 mb patch. It's applied like any other PS3 patch.

My WH still won't make the endgame save at all. Are you saying that the end of DA:O and the end of WH are the same in terms of impact on DA2? You don't think it matters what you do with Morrigan at the end of WH?

@Variant9: After final cutscene/dialogue game triggers autosave. Then it goes to credits and "checking save data" sign appears, while saving indicator is still present on top of screen. Then autosave completes and shortly after "checking save data" disappears too. Then you can check your saves and see that last save file is autosave in the Nest, near the mirror.

Thanks, definitely not getting that, only the "checking save data" bit. Fantastic <_<

I'm saying that as far as impact in DA2 is concerned, (and not any hypothetical DA3, mind you):Variant9 wrote...

If you had Morrigan at "In_Love" at the end of DA:O, that'll turn out to be the same as having followed her in WH.
If you participated in the DR in DA:O, that's the same as having a son "somewhere safe" in WH.
If you refused the DR in DA:O, that's the same as killing her in WH.
In other words, you can establish the parameters of the Warden's relationship with Morrigan totally within DA:O, and have the results play out in DA2 exactly as if you had done "this" or "that" in WH. The narrative (Codex?) explanations may be different, but the effect will be the same.

Yes, that's exactly what I thought you were saying. That's cool, especially if I can't make WH to save at the end. I'm going to try once more with a clean new install of everything and patching. Then I'm done bug fighting.Thandal NLyman wrote...

I went through about a half-dozen full un-/re-installs when I was trying to troubleshoot my CtD problems after patching to 1.03. Got it down to under an hour, start-to-finish, but it wasn't fun...
