That's what I thought, but I never get prompted for a download thats why I was asking. =/
I already have version 1.06, but mines still messed up, she says my kid is fine then says I denied her and whatnot.

Hmm..okay interesting update...apparently its something to do with my manual save from origins after the end of the game, i loaded my autosave of the same character right from the end of the game into awakening, then loaded that save  into witch hunt, and everything works fine because I got the options at the beginning talking to dog about helping me get my child back. =/

@cody, Well, Morrigan CAN  have had a child by your Warden AND  that Warden still have denied her the DR, (assuming you played a M!Warden, of course.). As your mother may have told you, "It only takes once..."
(In that case it just wouldn't be the OGB! ) Posted Image

A question...if you've recently downloaded Witch Hunt from the in-game DLC manager (the one you can access in the main menu), do you already have Witch hunt 1.1? Or is it mandatory to download the standalone installer?

I downloaded all the DLC's a week ago or so.

how can you check if you have 1.1 installed?, I can't remember doing so, but the stand alone installer seem to fail installing everytime....

Assuming you really are already at patch level 1.04...

The easiest way to ensure you're at WH v1.1  is to run the stand-alone installer from the "Run" command-line window using this: " DAO_WitchHunt.exe /skippatch ".

The console version of the patch is 1.06, correct? After completing Witch Hunt without the bugged ending with Morrigan, I didn't get an auto-save..?

Is there any way of finding out which version is installed before I spend a large sum of money trying to download another 850mb? Dragon Age downloaded the Witch Hunt module internally last night, so does it include the 1.1 patch, or not?

You don't have a Save named: "Autosave - The Nest", which if you try to load it, takes you directly to the end-credits? Posted Image

Exactly the same question here.

I've unzipped and checked the WH v1.1  d/l from the website (not the self-extracting .exe file, but the .(da)zip that the in-game DAUpdater uses.)

The ONLY file that changed (based on the metadata) from v1.0 to v1.1 is: "patch000.erf".
The new date/time stamp is: Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 4:39:52 pm.
It was posted to the EA servers for download on Monday, September 20, 2010.

And that makes sense, because the only thing that v1.1 had to do differently was the reading of the DA:O  end-state and subsequently setting the relevant WH  start-state plot-flags. From that point the module should be able to play "as intended".  (Why it had to be packaged as a complete module replacement is not clear to me, but I trust that the BioWare devs would not have done it that way if they could have avoided it!)

Nope, don't have it.  It does the checking save data stuff, then goes directly to the credits.  I didn't get autosaves at the end of Awakening or GoA either.

That data more probably is the day you downloaded the patch, not when it was created, as it appears 07-December to me.

Anyway, based on that, and that a patch has been ACTUALLY downloaded, I think we can pretty much assume they've updated Witch Hunt for people that downloaded it via in-game menu (or simply the download location is the same that the updated one).

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Not quite sure why the auto saves aren't triggering.

Right, it does go directly to the credits.  But when you get back to the Main Menu and choose "Load Game", do you have "Autosave - The Nest" as one of the ones (actually, the top one) you could select?

Now, even if you select it, it just launches -- then takes you to the credits.  There's nothing to "play" at that point. But the end-state has been recorded for possible LATER (DA2/3?) use.

1.  The date/time stamp of 15 Sep 2010 / 5:39 pm, is of the actual extracted "patch000.erf" file before installation, not the ".zip", and not the installed copy in your "addins" folder.

To see that you would have had to have done what I did and download the module from the EA servers, not use the in-game update.  (Well actually, I did both.  That's only because I like to have a local copy of important files so I can do a re-install without waiting on a long download.  And I've had to do my share of full un-/re-installs!)

2.  The file "patch000.erf" does not exist in version 1.0.  So if you have that, you have version 1.1,
regardless of date/time stamp on your install.  Posted Image

[Edit:  To clarify, you may (should!) have files named "patchxxx.erf",  elsewhere on your system.  Those are the game patches 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, and 1.04.  But those will not be in your "addins" folder under "dao_prc_str" .]

That would be a negative.  My last auto save in Witch hunt is Dragonbone Wastes.
Do I need to let the credits play all the way through for it to autosave?

Well, no.  It should make the autosave immediately BEFORE  going to the credits.
[Edit:  What's on-screen while the save is being made is actually a little disconcerting.  Characters appear to have "hopped back" into positions that they already vacated.]

In fact:

a) It is not until that "very last-minute" that you will have established the end-state to be preserved as input for any future "game history".

B) If the autosave is not being made it would indicate that you don't have WH ver. 1.1  installed (although you may have tried to do so.)

I would recommend going to your entitlements page (" http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php ") and pulling down the (~1GB) standalone executable, then running it with the "/nopatch" switch so it doesn't FAIL if you already have game patch ver 1.04 installed (which you must, since you've already played WH ver. 1.0.)

Until there is a save made AFTER your conversation with Morri at the Eluvian, (whatever the outcome) the game-state used for any future installment will be what it was at the end of DA:O  (for those elements effected by WH.)

Actually, it's only for the PC.  The PS3 and XBox fixes are handled differently.

If you go to your Entitlements Page, you should see ALL of the DLC which you've purchased, and any bonus items for which you are eligible.  Are you saying you're not authorized to have Witch Hunt?

Here's a screen shot of what the operative portion of the page should look like:

@CodytheMan; I just went back through the last couple of pages and realized that you're on the PS3. Sorry, my advice about the stand-alone "DAO_WitchHunt.exe" ver 1.1 fix does not apply.

I don't know exactly how the patch gets installed for console platforms. I do know that Fernando Melo posted a notice in this thread when both Sony and MS notified BioWare that the patches were going onto their respective servers (MS's was over a week behind Sony's!)

but you might have/can help me though...

The standalone updater says it fails at applying patch 1.04 (which I have installed, considering I am receiving the personal letters from love interests)...

can you explain to me how I should use that no patch switch you talk about?

EDIT: I tried your previous advice, using the Run command to open witch hunt updater, and did as you intructed with the skippatch, I now also did no patch however the computer just says it can't find that file...

so obviously I'm doing something wrong?

EDIT 2: Yay, it finally installed.... through Trial and error it finally accepted my run command... no idea why it didn't work before though... As I did the same thing three times already... now let's just hope it actually works:wizard:

Thanks for your help ^_^
