Regarding the son, you can only have a son walking around if you did the DR right?

K.R.,

Jan

No, you can have a normal son from time spent in camp with Morrigan.

edit: too slow.

Still didn't work for me. Got the same response that we didn't do the DR, nor that we had a relationship. Not only that, it uninstalled the Witch Hunt items that carry-over into DA:O and Awakenings and doesn't reinstall them after the last save. Oh well, it is now worse than what I had in my first experience in which she at least acknowledged that we did the DR but still didn't have a relationship.

UPDATE:

Though the reinstall of the reworked DLC removed the Witchcraft items for Awakenings and DA:O, I was simply able to re-downlaod and reinstall them. I went ahead and started another Witch Hunt mission from the beginning and it worked this time and all is well. I just wanted to be able to use the save I had right before talking to Morrigan, but oh well. I cheated anyway and made myself uber-powerful with the DA toolset so I could just breeze through it and did the whole mission is less than an hour.

The game did an auto save just before the credits rolled.......but when I reload the save....it went right to the credits. What are the new items you get?

I am having the exact same problem with both of the characters I took through WH.  :(

I don't think it's a problem. You don't get any new items per se. What you do get is the Witchcraft items for all of your new characters and existing characters who have not gone through WH.

Does it really matter whether or not your Warden got new items? After all, the Warden's journey is completed. A new mega-sword or thunder staff is not going to mean anything at that point. You're done. Your Warden has won a prize (ie the Witchcraft items) for everyone else that follows.

Now if the story-tellers had really wanted to give your Warden something lasting . . . maybe a cure to the darkspawn taint - that would have done the trick!  Posted Image

The update for witch hunt has one bug so far that I have found. when trying to enchant items with Sandel in the mages tower the enchant screen never fully loads and freezes the game.

Well, that didn't work. I renamed it to .dazip. But the zipped file when you click open just shows contents. I unzipped it and the unzipped file just shows contents..
The Daupdater obviously doesn't install it. Something is wrong somewhere.. A zipped file means you have to extract the files inside. But all i see are contents.
I'll wait for the standalone option...if it ever appears.

Well, I had the same problem. The I.E. changed it from dazip. into zip. and I wasn't able to change the file back into a dazip. Then I'd download it again with firefox....and it worked fine for me. Maybe that will help you.:D

Appreciate the effort, but the Mac update changed nothing for me. Still DR bugged, and no post DLC save. At this point, given up on frustration, merely confirms my original dissatisfaction.

Microsoft must be taking their sweet time. Only thing I need the patch for is the post game save, I already replayed the game and used the post-coronation save to get the correct dialog choices.

All I know is I used the unofficial patch for the base game that fixed on the story line errors bio ware left in both DA and Awakenings and the DLC functioned normally, aside from the end game save. Got the correct Morrigan related epilogue slides in DA and Awakening, had the right dialogue in Witch Hunt.

I think the lesson here is "Fix your ****"

If you follow Victor Wachter´s instructions, you will have a Witch Hunt DLC with no issues. My final savegame there just worked with all the options involving Morrigan :)

I've had one bug with Sandal's enchanting items as well.  I managed to get as far as the enchantment screen loading up and was even able to enchant a few weapons and armor.  I got a CTD, however, when I tried to select Cailan's breastplate to enchant.  I'll try another play-through later on and see if I can reproduce this error.

We are also working on a stand-alone installer, which can be used to install the update from Windows without using the DAUpdater utility. We will let you know when this install method is available.

[*]
[*]
[*]Why not just have it install ingame like the first version?

I had the same feeling until last night, when I loaded up a "post--epilogue slides" save from a different character than my "main one", to test the v1.1 fix (v1.0 had been fine with my regular PC, but that one had followed "the usual path".)

This  one had refused Morri's DR, but managed to save both herself and Alistair. (Long story... Don't ask.)

Anyway, I imported this Warden right into WH  from DA:O, and am now having Sandal buff everything I brought with me from Denerim before I go chasing after the Swap Witch.  (Inventory was almost full, so I have to alternate between buying runes and having him enchant things, then more runes, then more enchanting...)

So... after I have whatever denoument to WH  I decide to pursue, I SHOULD  be left with a Warden who I can import into DA:A  and GoA  for yet more  Darkspawn squishing!
Thus making the "Witchcraft Bonus Items" actually useful Posted Image

It seems to me that Bioware are going downhill fast. They made a blunder with WH, try to correct it with a recode and put it out. Now a lot of people are having problems gettign the .zip altered to a .dazip so the updater can install it. I tried to rename it and this is the message  i got from the updater>>>DAO_PRC_STR_1.1.dazip.zip is NOT  a dazip file.
When you go to rename the file you don't see the .zip extension, therefore you can't delete it.
All you see is>>>DAO_PRC_STR_1.1
Just as well because it seems there are even bugs in this version.
Hence my first statement.
I'm waiting for the standalone.
What has happened in the Bioware camp? Why all the errors in all you do now?
:(

Ahh no . . . despite how powerful your Warden may be, s/he still cannot time travel.  Chronologically, the story goes from Origins  > Awakening > GoA > Witch Hunt.

I am not hitting on the technicals here... more like idiotic storyline, lack of anything new or important nad general genericness...

Seems you have windows set to hide extentions for known file types. Go to the folder that has Witch Hunt.
Click on tools , folder options, new window pops up. Click
the view tab , make sure there is not a check or dot next to  Hide
extentions for known file types. The extentions should know be visable
for you to edit. If you are using Vista you need to hit your ALT key to
bring up  your menu , so you can see file, edit , view, tools and help.
When I first downloaded my copy of Witch Hunt it came as a .zip .  I needed to change it to a   .dazip. Hope this helps.

Au contraire.  There is no "canonical" (or programmatic) order to the post DA:O  DLCs.  NOTE:  I said, "post" DA:O.  Obviously there are several that fall inside the period of that game, (TSP, RtO, and WK.)  But even so, you can complete DA:O  before doing any of of those three, then go back after the Coronation to help Levi, free Shale, or build Cailan a pyre. One, (LS) pretty much does have to come "before" anything else, but that's about it.

Each DLC "stands in its own temporal frame."  So, for instance, we never learn the address to which Jarrik Dace sends the letter asking for the Warden's help finding Brogan in Amgarrak.  Was it to Vigil's Keep, or to Denerim?

From a business perspective, this is essential.  If you were BioWare/EA, would you really want to exclude a potential buyer of, say, DA:A, because the player had already completed WH ?

If you wanted to, you could even play LS, WHGoA, and DA:A, in that  order, with the same Warden, (well, a different PC for LS, obviously...) without EVER playing DA:O.  Of course you'd have to have purchased and installed it, but you wouldn't actually have to have played it.  Just start with a new Warden in WH, and keep importing that Warden as you go "backwards" through the series.

In the end though, you'd never be able to play that  Warden in DA:O,
because it doesn't have the "Import Character" function. Posted Image

Er...it was Vigil's Keep.  It'sa  codex entry, Thandal.  Vael passes the note on to you.  If you make an Orlesian Warden, even if you makes this Warden specifically for the Amgarrack campaign, he suggests helping the Dace clan isn an attempt to win friends in Orzammar, because the nobles in Amaranthine still haven't taken a liking to your Orelsian face.  If you are the Hero of Fereldan, he simply passes it along to you, but either way the entry refers to you as the Warden Commander, and Varel has already met you, so the opening events of Awakening are heavily suggested to have happened.

Also, WH takes place one year after the end of the blight.  Again, the timeline is mentioned in the new codex entries, and also on the map icons in WH.  Awakening takes place six mothsn later, and again this is specified in the Codex.

Now.  That having been said, you can play the game in any order you damn well please! :D

We'll just call you The Doctor-Warden from now on.:P

How is the TARDIS, anyway?  Ever get the swimming pool out of the library?
