With all the DLC issues and bugs that came with Awakening, I'm sure Bioware will be paying more attention to the download content for Dragon Age 2. ...Silver lining...
*Sigh* One can only hope.

Well, if you're going to go paying attention to the facts and all... See my totally unofficial, and highly abbreviated timeline of the DA saga to-date (with bonus editorial comments about the likely chronological placement of DA2) over on Nexus at: http://www.thenexusf...nt/page__st__44 (post #45, in the thread.)DarkSpiral wrote...
Er...it was Vigil's Keep. It'sa codex entry, Thandal.
...
Also, WH takes place one year after the end of the blight. Again, the timeline is mentioned in the new codex entries, and also on the map icons in WH. Awakening takes place six mothsn later, and again this is specified in the Codex.
Now. That having been said, you can play the game in any order you damn well please!
We'll just call you The Doctor-Warden from now on.
How is the TARDIS, anyway? Ever get the swimming pool out of the library?
Besides; Codex? We don't need no stinkin' codex! (I seldom bother reading the entries, but do tend to listen to the dialogue, at least the first time around.
Anyway, while my attempt to interject "game-world" humor was deficient, my point was accurate.
Oh, and I had the same "Dr." image pop into my head as I thought about the possiblities. Especially when I realized that it wasn't even a "forward or backward" situation, but that one could do them in (almost) any order at all!
And like when helping Rose get to meet her father, we do get to go into our own past... in the future!

A quick note for console players - things are progressing but we still have not heard back on a release date for X360 or PS3. As soon as we get that we'll let you know.

Well, at least we hear about the progress instead of being "assured" of "fixes" but never see them like certain companies I remember [Don't ask. Long story.]<_<. Bioware's been good for that. Thanks for the update.
Oh, before I forget: will uploading this patch crash the "Precious Metals" quest again? That one got under my skin for three minutes before I sold a bunch of worthless tin for 100 sovereigns.

Game bug: The pounding sound from the mines follows me everywhere on world map. After 8-12 hours of hearing that it gets nagging. I rebooted game and it seems 50/50 shot that it make2 the sound go away.

Please pay attention to the directions - you must rename the file from .zip to .dazip, so simply just adding a .dazip at the end of the filename does not do the trick. You must delete the .zip extension and then add the .dazip extension.
If you cannot see the .zip extension at the end of the filename, it is because Windows Explorer hides file extensions for known filetypes. You need to show these in windows explorer: tools->folder options->view->uncheck "hide extensions for known file types". Then you will be able to see the .zip extension, and then you can rename it to .dazip

If one is using the actual DAModder, you don't have to do that. Since this needs to be installed through a modder, it will find the file properly in the directory that has the ZIP or DAZIPs extensions. The extension option drop down box is next to the file location bar in the image example. After one clicks on the "install mod" button after opening DAModder, they then get an explorer window to search for their file. Here's the window example.

If the image is hard to see, you can view the full size here oi53.tinypic.com/2d7vnuo.jpg

ElvaliaRavenHart - it's a repacked version, not a patch. You can only download the new version. But if you want my 2c, save your money. Just watch the 10 seconds you get of Morrigan on YouTube.

Can someone generate an MD5 checksum from a confirmed working 1.1 file?
(That's a copy-paste from my checksum utility, not from your post.
So your download is valid, but your install isn't. (You did rename to "DAO_PRC_STR_1.1.dazip", right?

No, because I never downloaded it as a Zip in the first place. I would guess that is likely an IE issue. FF doesn't force extension renames. But as someone already said, the extension is irrelevant. DAModder will read it either way. Plus a DAZip isn't an actual format - it's just a renamed Zip to start with (look at the header - 504B0304).
Thanks for the hash though. Saves me having to download it again. Not that I'll likely play through the fixed version anyway. Twice through the original release was about as much as I can stomach.

I just wish they would fix all that jazz in Awakening. I am sure they can work on both DA2 AND Awakening.

Right, DAModder is supposed to be able to handle .zips correctly and as easily as the other. But as you say, you didn't need to re-name it anyway. Not sure what's "different" about your set-up. (Not a Steam installation, is it?)DarthParametric wrote...

Had zero trouble on my end (everything in default locations, used DAUpdater for the install...) so not sure what's going on.

But.....that was the first thing i tried after downloading. I went straight to DAModder to install and it told me....yes it told me....DAO_PRC_STR_1.1.zip is not a dazip file. No it must be an out of this world file.
So i tried with the updater and that couldn't even find it.
What a mess....come on, get that standalone version out.

Where's the console patch? This is ridiculous, what the hell are MS and Sony waiting for?
Seriously, after all this mess I'll think twice before buying any other Bioware DLC on day one. I'll wait to see the comments before doing anything.
