A new installer has been released to simply the patch process for the Witch Hunt DLC. The patch installer can be downloaded from http://social.biowar...page/da-patches

This file is a standalone installer for the PC version of the Witch Hunt update. To install the Witch Hunt patch, download the file to your desktop, or another folder on your computer which you can easily find. Locate the executable DAO_WitchHunt.exe and double click it to run. Follow the onscreen menu to install the patch.

The console versions of the patch are still in testing. We will update you once we have more information on that as well.

Clicking (and ctrl-clicking) the link returned a "Page not found" error.
But "copy-paste" of the link got the "Run / Save" download dialogue window.
So I was able to obtain the file. Image IPB

Wrong choice of words on my part. It is in the certification process (being tested by Microsoft and Sony).

Alright, it's been a week since then. When can we expect a release?

In the past, MS and Sony have taken about 2 weeks to complete certification. Once it has been certified, the patch then has to be uploaded to their update servers - another day added on.

Downloaded the updated ".exe" file, but when extracting says "failed  to apply required Dragon age: origins patch 1.04.  Abort install"  My game is already patched to 1.04 so what is the problem?

I wouldn't get too worried abouot the patch for consoles. I downloaded it for my PC and still got the same results.

I can report the exact same error message resulting from using the self-extracting/installing version of WH_1.1 released today.

The "verification" step goes fine, and it correctly identifies the install path on my Win7/64 system, but then fails at the "v1.04" check, even though I've been patched to 1.04 since the day it came out.  (Even if I had waited, I would have had to for GoA  anyway...)

Fortunately for me, I just wanted to test this version.  I already had the .dazip of 1.1, and it had installed just fine using "DAUpdater".

LOL at the 847MB "installer". Aw well, giving the latest posts, I'm glad I could still find the .dazip version available for download, even if a bit larger file than the installer.

Agreed, Witch Hunt was a tad short even for Dragon Age DLC.

A DLC that is been torn to pieces in reviews and on the forums and deservedly so but to top it off it doesnt even work properly.

You can only laugh.Image IPB

At this stage Im not even going to bother trying to fiddle for hours with faulty patches to get this working its not worth all the hassle.Image IPB

Shame that DAO fizzled out so poorly the game deserved more.( Bit of an Arl Howe about it)Image IPB

Agreed if they only got the creative team that did lair of the Shadowbroker to do the DLC the Witch Hunt we would be praising it not chopping it to pieces. lol

It seems ME2 has all the great creative teams for working on DLC'S and DAO got the sloppy seconds.

Well at least with the updated stand alone version of WH i finally got it installed. Now i will have to see if the ending is different to what is was...ie: Morrigan saying i never did the Ritual.

It's not Alice through the looking glass...is it? :)

Yay! I haven't got around to installing this yet and that installer seems the easy option. :D

Thanks for making the extra effort to create the installer. :wizard:

Hmm? Thought certain DLCs to games, especially those over a gig, would take an hour or so. Why? Is this a problem experienced by others too?
