I tried downloading and installing the DAZIP four times, with and without virus scan running, using IE and Firefox. Each time, I received the following error in the DAUpdater log:

9/20/2010 4:56 PM - DAUpdater, Error - Install Error for: C:\\\\Users\\\\Marc\\\\AppData\\\\Local\\\\Temp\\\\DAO_PRC_STR_1.1.dazip, Error: Couldn't load manifest file (could be bad dazip archive)

Anyone know of a fix? "Could be a bad dazip archive" does not inspire confidence. Yet other people seem to be able to install...

Thanks in advance -- Marc

Edit: My platform is PC.

Are you sure that is the final, finished download? You give a location that is a temporary directory, it's more usual to put downloaded files somewhere in 'My Documents' (FF defaults to 'downloads' IIRC) or on your desktop.

Bioware detail what you need to do on their installation links. Just rename the file to .dazip instead of .zip or use a proper browser. ;¬)

XP plays no part in it, no.

I'm using Vista and having the same problem. It didn't give me the option to rename it BEFORE downloading; the instructions said to rename it AFTER downloading, so i took them at their word and assumed that was possible. However it's downloaded on my computer and i absolutely cannot find any way to "rename" the file so that it will show up in the DA:O content updated. Is there some specific way of changing it to a ".dazip"?

vista users, you need to go into your control panel and into folder options, then go to the view tab, look on the list for: hide extensions for known file types ; then take the check mark out of the box and click ok....what this does is allow you to change the file type from .zip to .dazip ...once you are done you can of course go back and put the check mark back into hide file extensions

That's how I changed my file extension of the mod, and am now getting "Couldn't load manifest file (could be bad dazip archive)" rather than the errors I was getting before.

Any ideas??
