I regretted being an achievement junkie at that point.

There are a few achievements that I'll never get because I simply can't bring myself to do what's required for them. Defiling the Urn being the one thing I could never bring myself to do.

I'm also missing the "Warden Commander" achievement for letting Alistair kill the AD. Somehow I just don't want to see that ending and not because I'm an Alistair fangirl (not in the slightest), but because I just feel that that particular ending isn't well developed. Sure, watching Alistair die is touching, but the way it's completely ignored during the post-coronation ceremony and the epilogue is really galling.

Loghain's "Redeemer" ending on the other hand is really well done.

And here I was feeling silly over not being able to bring myself to defile the Urn. Somethings you just don't do, even in a game. And it's way easier for me to sacrifice my character than the person my character is involved with.

One of these days I'll try Loghain's "Redeemer", we'll see. :)

The Redeemer ending is very touching.

As far as the Coronation goes, Anora gives Loghain props because he's her father, and she'll want to talk about him afterwards for the same reason. But if Alistair dies, she's probably somewhat relieved that the man who hated her father so much is dead and she won't have to marry him (or in some cases, stay locked up in the tower).

I'm surprised Wynne wasn't more upset, though - she seemed to treat him like a surrogate son.

The biggest ending suprise for me was the DR I just couldnt decide. I literally got up went outside and walked my dog trying to think of what to do.

I can see that!  I was in absolute shock!  I'd been expecting to have one final night of tender romance with Alistair and instead I was faced with watching him sleep with another woman.  Completely caught off-guard.

I got the achievement through Loghain, not Alistair but was still a glutton for punishment because I'd heard that Alistair would once again profess his love for me before he took the final blow himself (despite his having broken up with my elf after the LM).  I was so emotional during that scene, I don't know if he did or not and I've never been able to bring myself to play it that way again to find out.

I did, just long enough to get the achievement and then reloaded the game and behaved like the good little girl my Warden was.  And yes, that was yet another moment where I hated being an achievement junky.

I recently used the Feastday Gift/Gag DLC to quickly gain approval from my party during one campaign with my male DN Warden. Soon thereafter when selecting Alistair, he kept ref the Warden as, "... my love?". Until then, I did not realize how much Alistair really likes hand puppets.....

LMAO! If Alistiar (and maybe other companions too, but I notice it most with Alistair) is at 100% approval he will use the phrases for love if clicked on.  When I have a male Warden and get to that point I always figure that the lack of sex is starting to get to the big guy. XD

All the love interests do that. It's how I learned that Morrigan really does have a cute giggle!

Oh that's too funny! I've noticed Morrigan's giggle (which I find completely pathetic), but have never seen Alistair use endearments when not in a romance. In fact, during a recent playthrough where I actually *gasp* turned down Alistair's advances, I found his calling me "my friend" vs "my love" to be quite refreshing -- I'm a HUGH sucker for romancing Alistair but that "my love" bit grates on my nerves.

You have to have someone at 100 approval to get the "love" lines. Even at 99 approval, you'll get the "friendship" lines.  Alistair is just as bugged as the other love interests.  It's cute, though.
