Considering what they normally spend their time on, I figure any fuming on their part would at the very least have to be more interesting than the Silmarillion.

Takes one to know one.

Okay, what the hell is this thread about now? Bashing LOTR fans and saying how the Noldor heroes can own like Chuch Norris?

Weeellll... I hate to say it, but much as I love my elven Wardens, the Dalish in the game did not seem fit to inspire the terror that they supposedly do.  I am hoping for a darker/ more tribal/ more kickass and deeper Dalish angle in future installments.

But...that fits well with Silmarillion elves, so...  the Maker has me worried.  Also the lack of any further art on the elves after the initial concept art release.

The elves just felt like regular people to me. And the dwarves were all just rotten. The fact that DA:O had elves and dwarves and didn't just stick to all new races was at the top of a very very sort list of things that I actively disliked about it.

I didn't see the concept art and wallpaper for the Dalish until after I'd played. The quote on the wallpaper made me think of guerrilla warfare and secretive clans hiding in the hills harrying the humans.

Instead - Cammen.

I love my Dalish too but mourn for lost opportunity.

I was hoping for irish so that we could have them go off on a tirade about blood being split for the blood that was spilt when blood was spilling for blood and such. (bad IRA ref)

Then you could have the keeper casting virulent walking bomb on his people as they run out to fight the shems . . .

I don't want to be stuck with the Dalish! Give us someone better than that!

Though it does beat City Elves...

Yeah.  I just want Concept Art Guy.  Preferably as a romanceable character.

What's that saying? People who live in glass houses shouldn't call other people nerds?

TST says that those in the clan who trade with humans learn it.  I guess they thought it too difficult to implement to have the majority of Zathrian's camp not understand a non-Dalish PC.

And obviously for a computer game it would make it very awkward if one of the factions couldn't communicate, but still....

I wish I could get this joke! But I can't! Why do they call us nerds when they're the same! It's like going to a random person on the street and saying "You're such a human!"
Come to think of it, I have aspired to transcend humanity. Maybe I should try it some time.

Anyway, anyone still wanting to talk about the Welsh accent, or has that topic already drained?

I have an important question, seeing as Dalish Elves now speak Welsh, will I need a Dalish phrasebook the next time I go to Wales?

The elves are a blight on society. Especially those no good thieving Dalish who squat on our lands and poach the good game of our fair lords. You can't trust the welsh! Especially that no good Dalish David Lloyd George who completely bungled things with Greece!

Someone in a clan would no doubt have spoken the king's tongue, but yeah too messy.  Then you'd get into the question of whether NPCs would be squinting at your Dalish PC saying "huhwut?"  Which would have been interesting, but complicated.

I'm fine with accents.  Like the idea of the Welsh accent very much.  Guess that's the bottom line.

Grim town, 'fraid so. Just like you need an Orlesian phrase book to understand French people
