Yes, but Ellie love is off limits to him. He really needs to realize that she only loves and wants Loghain now.

He definitely does!  I think, if she had just broken up with him straight up, he might have been past it already.  But politics intervened, and politics tests people's basic humanity.  As I see Cailan and Anora, they've known nothing but politics from day one.  Bound to be some issues there.  Plus he just lost his father and had a kingdom put on his shoulders and was saddled with a wife he doesn't really want.  So yep yep, issues.  But that's what makes it a story!

Mmmm, I could just be projecting, too. His mannerisms and apparent obsession with Ellie and/or trying to separate Ellie and Loghain just reminds me faaaaaar too much of a creepy, ex-boyfriend stalker I had back in my freshman year of college. *shudders*

I really feel for Cailan- he has no one who cares about him for him anymore, and Theirins don't do well with that.

Maybe it's guilt over beating up on him so much in my story , but I'll post this fanart that I love of him by another Loghain fan, MaevesChild.  It's called "His Father's Empty Grave."




P.S. In saying I feel badly for him I am definitely not trying to justify any creepy stalking, either real or in fiction!!

I remember that, and thinking, "thats kinda a girly thing to do" but then I remembered he IS a Theirin and seem to be swimming in women and something has got to rub off on them. (Innuendo intended). But I've just barely finished reading all of Maria's DR story and thus it was the first thing that came to mind.

LOL  It's not girly.  Well, I'm a chick, so I have my own ideas of what is girly.  To me it's like saying that something hurts so much it takes your breath away.

Scott Baio?!  Scott Baio?!!   Only another child of the 80s could understand that statement.  LOL

Actually there's a dynamic with Loghain that a couple reviewers have commented on, the older man who thinks he only has duty left to him.  Very sexy.  And yes, Cailan is a tramp, but he's sexy in his own way too.

I would also hope that Cailan would try the royal bastard route before he went the 'selling out Ferelden to Orlais' route.

Then again, that could just be the optimist in me who refused to believe that Cailan could be so stupid until it was confirmed a little while back...
