Can we possibly get some of the softer sides of women in the game too?

On the other hand it might be nice to see some more feminine/sexy armor styles. I know we all would like a greater variety of armor :)

Traditionally feminine/sexy attire is hardly appropriate for the battlefield.

That just pretty much summed up what I wanted to say. I'm a female gamer and honestly roll my eyes at the leather armor for female rogues. Giant scooping neckline that exposes half my chest to arrow shots and the like? *sigh*

I don't think its too much to ask to have armour that properly covers all of you including cleavage because it's ARMOUR, and then have normal clothing for wearing in town sexy or not.

They wouldn't really have to put any extra work in, they'll be designing normal clothes and nice dresses anyway for the npcs, all they have to do is make it so that they're available to the pc in whatever fashion.

To be fair, rogues can't wear heavy stuff (for mobility purposes) and will sacrifice defense for more damage. So even if the chest area wasn't exposed it would be covered by soft leather anyway, which doesn't do much in the way of stopping arrows. Not that I support ****ty looking armor, just pointing this fact out. The point of being a rogue is not getting hit at all, hence blending into shadows, dodging and being all tricksy hobbitseslike.

And if we're talking about what would be realistic in battle, might I remind you about the armor worn by the most badass fighters in the world?

Real warriors fight in their underwear dude.*

Fair points.

I still feel like an idiot running around in it, though (and, personally, I actually prefer the look of the male version leather armor anyway... and I've seen mods out there where you can basically put the male version of leather armor on your females, but being on console, I can't partake of that). I just hope in DA 2 women aren't as touchy as Leliana. Kiss Morrigan, -5, Kissed on the cheek by Kaitlyn -10, Kissed by Bella -10, threesome with Isabela +4...... hmmm WTF!

I'd love to see some longer "political" sequences like in Awakenings. It would be neat as hell to see Hawkette in a nice dress or Hawke in a suit plopped down on the throne holding court. It would certainly be something new an interesting. Fable III should be bringing this to the table though, provided they ever finish the PC version.

New and interesting twist + Fantastic Series = Great Victory.

This.

While I was hoping for a proper wedding dress (we needed one for the City Elf Origin, as well), the fact remains that every outfit is an entirely new model. We were already cutting unique models for things that were really important-- never mind creating new ones for comparatively frivolous stuff like fancy dresses and rings on fingers.

I recognize that some things in the "nice to have" category would be really nice to have-- but some of them are also incredibly expensive. We always have to pick our battles on this front, I'm afraid, and the "nice to haves" generally need to be a bit more directly related to the purpose of the game to even be seriously considered.

Sorry to be the party pooper, but that evidently seems to be my role these days. Posted Image

A clothing system like ME2's in a much more customizable game like DA could incite more player-tailoring through mods. That'd be neat.

Small point, but I'm not sure what a "proper wedding dress" would look like for a poor City Elf in a medieval setting. Queen Victoria was the one who actually started the tradition of brides wearing white, and up until then and for a long period after, women just wore their nicest dress. My grandmother was married in 1940 or '41 and wore a blue knee-length dress.

If the dress in the CE origin is the only dress the CE owns, then I think it's actually just fine for the wedding. I can't imagine Anora wearing a white dress with a train and veil for her wedding to Cailan, nor can I imagine the PC wearing something similar if she married Alistair. Probably just noble clothes with fancier textures.

No softness for women in this game! They all have to belch, fart and tell crude jokes around the campfire after a round of darkspawn slaying like the rest of us.

You want someone's soft side? Cut deep, it is pretty soft inside there.

I like the cut of your jib sir.

@OP If you were talking personality wise I'd say that Morrigan and Lelianna have girly sides, but for specific dresses and other vanity items then really you're just adding more and more work for the art team for what amounts to frivolous non essential items, when they could really be doing other things. It'd be nice as Gaider says but, I'd rather they just tighten up textures and models on what they have rather than creating lots of unique meshes and then having the overall quality lowered.

So many awesome responses in this thread.

I personally did like the noble clothing drops that we did get, for at least one of my characters, but other than the missing wedding dress from the City Elf Origin, a lack of "girly" clothes didn't bother me. I'd much rather see the devs work on female character models and animations, making them realistic and separate from the male version (thanks for doing this, btw!!!), than have a choice of pretty dresses.

I think he meant like the one in the concept art.

Knowing what life's like for the Denerim elves, I'm going to bet that the female CE doesn't actually own that dress. It was probably the only nice dress in the entire alienage. They passed it around. If you were good and Valendrian liked you, and you got married, you got to wear the nice dress.

You took that dress out of the alienage when you went to Ostagar, didn't you? Now the girl-elves in Denerim have no wedding dress. You monster.

I would love da2 to have all that crap, clothing random home upgrades etc. all in the name of extending game time. But seems unlikely :(

At least some of us kept the dress...I think my CE has it sitting in the trunk in the Vigil.  She can mail it home for the next wedding....or give it to the elves in Amaranthine!  "Look what your mighty arl brings you...a dress from Denerim! I wore it at my own wedding!  Feel honored!"

Now the people who sold it for a little extra cash....Shaaaaaaaaame.<_<

It sells for less than the regular clothing, so it can't be that nice

edit: of course, that might have been all the blood

Edit P.S. I would like to hear how many kept the Cousland sword and shield.  I know I did, even though I don't play S & S warriors.  My male character wore Morrigan's ring.  I think what the OP was missing was something equippable from the other LIs?  Mods can do wondrous things.

Not sure the Alienage girls would want my city elf's wedding dress back... it's got Archdemon blood all over it. A bit icky, honestly.

Which would you rather have?   More choices in a shorter role, or less choices in a longer role?  I'm right with you on how neat it would be, of course.

DA3!!!!!!!   Or DA2's first expansion pack!  :P:P:P
