Im under impression that there is a master Reaper of sorts. The oldest and Mightiest of them all. What made me think of this was Harbinger, who at the moment appears the highest ranking reaper, but then I actualy that about his name, what is a harbinger? A harbinger is basicly a rep who precedes those of greater importance. What do you think? What would this master reaper be like?

There might not be one. Or that one 'master reaper' might have died with the mass accelerator shot over Memnosyne. A Harbinger is a messenger, a sign of things to come, something which precedes events; in this case, probably the Reaper invasion.

For that matter, Harbinger himself might be that 'master reaper'. He was in charge of the Human Reaper creation project, after all.

That's something I've been thinking about.  Harbinger's could mean that there is a greater Reaper that he serves, as you said.  At the same time, perhaps Harbinger is more of a reference to whatever it is that the Reapers are supposedly saving sapient life from?  They keep bringning up that they are salvation through destruction.

But then again, is there even a true leader among the Reapers.  Sovereign stated that Reapers are each a nation unto themselves, which would imply that while they might want the same thing, they don't have a leader and will simply cooperate.

hmm, harbinger. I am not even convinced Harbinger is the name of that Reaper. Sovereign's name to the Geth was Nazara. I find it hard to believe that Reaper entity would identify itself as "Harbinger."

Reapers are squids. Squids live in water. Water is found in aquariums. Shepards aquarium is the big boss reaper! It fits perfectly. That damn aquarium kills all my damn fish every other game. Kelly is just another Saren. Preparing for the reapers big feast. I knew she was too cute and positive.

What I want to know is what these things do for fun when in deep space. Do Reapers have bars? Do they have a culture at all? Seeing how they are really advanced they have to have some kind of cultural and philosophical endevours.

The Reapers are like the UN.

They are all an individual "nation" that comes together for a certain goal.

But unlike the UN they actuallty get stuff done.

It most definitely isn't it's name.  In fact, I don't believe Harbinger actually identifies ITSELF as Harbinger in the game.  It identifies itself and the collectors as harbingers, which is how the name sticks...

Each are a nation but that does not mean all are equal in power, after all they harvest species to reproduce and each species has different characteristics things like a heavy gravity species (elcor) or a species similar to the krogan with redundant organs these differences might determine the reaper hierachy

Have you guys noticed that in the end of ME2 where you see the reaper fleet, each reapers is completely different in physical appearence? Pretty embarrasing that i just noticed this after my multiple playthroughs of ME2.

Yeah, I didn't notice it at first either don't feel bad, and as for your sig a better one would be "Once you go blue, there ain't no other hue."

each a nation, independent, free of all weakness.... so why the hell do they help each other conquer other races... theres a giant plot hole with the reapers here. they facilitate their equivalent of reproduction by assimilating races, but sovereign says they are eternal in ME1 or something along those lines. another thing... when we get a glimpse of the reaper army massing on the galactic horizon, they all look the same/ extremely similar, why the hell did the human reaper look so different? if they absorb the characteristics of the species they use to reproduce, then shouldn't they maintain some sort of heterogeneity and not all have the typical reaper profile?

so a hanar reaper would have giant robotic genticles?

The final boss will be an ancient Reaper whose existance is the reason that Element Zero and biotics exist, when you kill him Element Zero will slowly become an inert dust and Biotics will stop being born.

GALACTUS!!!

No seriously, it's Harbinger. Im guessing each Reaper has a title and job.

Sovereign's was the "Vanguard" or "THE VANGUARD of your DESTUCTION" and his job was to deceive organics, analize them and release the Reapers into the Milky Way.

That would mean all eezo based technology would cease to function. No more FTL. No more galactic community. No more Mass Effect universe (since no more mass effect :)). Not a very happy ending, is it?

Don't worry, it will never happen as long as EA's money maw is open.

They don't all look alike, there are several different forms in the end cutscene.

Also, it's possible that they change their shape when they stop being babies.  That Reaper was dinky compared to Sovereign.
