Good lord if one more clown posts "don't do that if you don't like it" the internet will explode. Such a tired cliche of anti helpful

why is a valid theory, if u don't like somthing why interact with it. like the ppl who come on these forums & trash DA:O. WHy bother, i don't go insult MW2 fanboys b/c I really don't care for the game so why even discuss it or bother with it? If u don't like it don't do it, makes sense to me.

I would think its more because of the mechanics of the game than anything. I mean, there has to be a difference stat-wise with 2h weapons, otherwise there would be no reason to have them. The idea is that 2h are slower, but do more damage per hit and naturally have higher risks with missing, but higher rewards with crits, blah blah etc etc, but the point is 2h need to be slower so you can rather have it like in WoW, where your character sits there like an idiot for 2 seconds then swings, or you can have them LOOKING like they are doing something. Which obviously creates this effect that you don't like, I personally think its cool makes it feel like a real heavy hit.

Maybe we should start a petition to the Ferelden Smiths to stop making their weapons outta solid lead! Posted Image

I hope your not correct about the 2H animations, or i'm gonna be sad. My favorite weapon is the 2H axe.

Its pretty easy to find out wikipedia if you want, with links to reliable sites.. No one could wield a sword that was more than 30 lbs for a fight for long with out being unbalanced or tiring.. It just didn't happen..

I just did a quick google search & out of 12 swords mostly replicas the lightest was 7lbs so I would have to say you're very wrong. As some1 said before if the animations bother u that much just don't play a 2h. but 7-22lbs is what i found so thats kind of a huge difference for something you'll be carrying with you & swining at another person while wearing heavy ass armor.

No they did not..  You were looking at ceremonial swords than the ones that go beyond 15lbs.. And seriously stop saying "than don't play 2handers".. Yeah clearly that would solve the fact that it looks like garbage.

And they don't need to speed up damage speed.. They pulled it off by making lightsabres look fast in KOTOR yet even when they hit they didn't always neccesarly act like a real hit for damage sake.

You sir, have no idea what you're talking about. swords generally weighed 10 lbs at the LIGHTEST. the heaviest sword in record that was used by infantry in battle was 28 1/4 lbs. You should learn a thing or two before you troll like a retard. kthx.

The animations remind me a little of berserk, so I like them. It looks a little silly when sten does it, though.

I must say the two hander animation looks awful, these swords do not wiegh 50 lbs.. HIstorical swords like the Zweihander two handed sword wieghed less than 10lbs..  And these were the largest swords on the battlefield..   Axe wieght range was just about the exact same, the only for seeable weapon I would see a slow motion like that maybe a maul..  But seriously the two handed talent line looks great, but the animiation just looks awful..

Have you ever tried to lift a real claymore?

Clamores were considered lightweight two-handers. Do a bit more research.

Yes I have, they are light.. They had to be light or you would tire out in the end.. Here is another site that discusses the actual size, they are not some lumbering huge weapon.. They were fastand could be used with some precision.

Uh, swords were heavy.  There's no way a typical 2 handed sword weighed 10 lbs and wasn't just a prop or ceremonial thing.

The majority of the information including the dimensions of the sword are cited.. You just follow the citation.. here is one of them that discusses it http://www.thearma.o...ssays/2HGS.html.. This isn't rocket science this should be very common knowledge if your savy in history.

Really what they could do is just speed up the animiation but keep the damage the same..   Warriors in genearl have less options than say a mage in this game, and one of their trees the twohanded ones animation just looks completely unappealing to watch compared to the other two melee styles.

I'm pretty sure a Bioware Dev has glaced over this thread, Scoffed at your stupidity and dismissed it just as quickly. Just give up.

you only have one source & i'll say it again then do not use a 2h char. If u don't like it wait for it to be patched but why play soemthing that bothers u so much? Plus if you are this anal about realism i truly doubt any game could ever please u & u would have some flaw to mention about realism. I thought 2h weapons looked ridiculously oversized not compared to real ones or replicas just for my taste so guess what!!! i don't use them!!! I still don't even understand the complaint? They swing too slow? too fast? the finisher isn't custom enough? I just don't get the point in complaining instead of enjoying the game.

Also, I'd like to add that weight isn't everything. Most of the large greataxes/mauls in this game are kind of like swinging around a metal cross. Something that is so top heavy like that is incredibly difficult to maneuver.

As for swords, go find a thick log about the same length and try swinging it around and you'll immediately understand why the animations look the way they do.

Auto-attack is slow, weave in some skills and it'll speed up a lot, at least until they are all on cooldown.

DragonAge1103.. I could care less about realism but just the fact that the animation looks butt ugly compared to the other two.. Now if it were for the sake of realism I would understand, but its not sense swords were light.. So what was their purpose other than doing a short cut for game mechanic sake?

Lol jesus bro, I'll tell you what happened.

You saw that the 2h animation was slow. Got angry because every game does this, you specced 2h and are now afraid you won't "omgwtfpwnt" everything.

You "researched" it and are now complaining after never picking up anything near a real sword. Maybe a replica or a furniture mantle but not real.

Sorry for telling the truth but you suck ^^
