Time for a bump.

DA2 ist out, BioWare's working on a big patch for DA2 and I'd like so see an official answer from BioWare whether there will be a 1.05 patch for DAO or not. [although I'm waiting almost for a 3/4 year now]

You see, BioWare did manage to solve all the performance problems introduced by patch 1.03 for DAO in DA2.
In DAO however, there are still slowdowns after playing for half an hour or so. This does not happen in DA2.
There are no crashes in DA2 while there are many in DAO; see the Tech forum. So many people are crying there because the game's crashing, however no one shouts for a patch to solve it.
As a sidenote: The crashes will never disappear if BioWare doesn't cure their precious baby (DAO) anymore.

I doubt Bioware will release any thing for DA:O since they are catering DA2 right now. No amount of patches could ever fix that game though, imo.

I restarted DA:O a couple of days ago (I  had never finished it, hadn't played it any since last year, and I kinda wanted to finish it before I went any further in DA2) on the PS3, and when I started it, I got the message that an update for the game was found and I needed to downlaod it before I can play the game, and I'm fairly certain it said it was version 1.06. It could have been 1.05. Is there any way I can check that?

Nah... It's version 1.04. Run the game, click configuration and click system summary it will tell you what version you have.

I don't believe I can do that on the PS3, can I?
Oh and you're probably right, it likely is 1.04. I did say I wasn'r sure.

Well PS3 could be different. It's possible more patches were released for the consoles than the PC version.

dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Rumblings_From_Beneath <- This quest is broken in Awakening and BioWare didn't care for a solution, so community member Shard of Truth did it for them: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/71/index/6543551.

You know, those bugs should have been patched already.

1.05 is being worked on for the PC, see this thread for details: http://social.biowar...index/7137421/1

Not sure about consoles.

^ Oh, nice. I'm still playing DA:O ( only finished it once ) and while I do have DA2, I'd like the bugs of DA:O to be fixed as much as possible. I do love Origins. I didn't like to use a mod as much as possible but there was there were a few dialogue and story parts I really couldn't stand anymore and had to resort to finding a mod. Hoping 1.05 will resolve that.

Patch 1.05 will only adress DLC authoriziation problems with the Bioware servers as far as we know at the moment.

It seems Bioware is relying on community created mods to fix the rest of the game, refer to this topic: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/7438366.

Bioware does seem to take the approach that toolset = less need for patches (or a higher bar for what deserves a patch). Bethesda seems fond of it too. In their favor, DA2 has gotten a lot more story & game fixes already than any Bioware game I can remember. And Kotor, Baldur's Gate, etc, were not short on bugs.

So yeah, at this point I would guess that significant game rule/story adjustments in a patch are very unlikely.

There's nothing Whiny about demanding the product work as promised. We paid plenty for it, and we deserve a fully functional game. Would I be whining if I complained that the interior light in my car didn't always work??? A pretty minor thing, but I have a right to full functionality in something I paid for!
