Haha! That does paint her reappearance in that scene in a totally different light. "You can't kill the Miranda."

The story only has plotholes because you decided to advance the main plot of a character when the story should have been over. This is completely your fault, and you can't really blame BioWare for that. Same thing goes for if you destroy the Collector base, turn your back on Cerberus, but then go around doing missions for them still. You're making the game break continuity.

OK, I take issue with this.  I have already played the game the normal way.  And an open ended "RPG" like this should be able to be played in a number of different ways.

I DO think this was an oversite.  Bioware CHOSE to allow players to do the loyalty missions after the omega relay! They didnt have to allow that!  And, by allowing the loyalty missions later, they could have taken possibe deaths into account!

From a role playing perspective.  My Shepard told Jacob that we were too busy to look into the Gernsback and might get to it later.  That was even part of the dialogue tree.  After the Omega 4 mission, we finally had time to check it out...

NOW, I DO realize that this is NOT a big deal.

OK, this is plot hole(OMG PLOT HOLE WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!). But lets look:

1) It's fairly minor one.

2) It could be easily fixed. Just close your eyes and ears for a short period of time and BAM! no contradiction.

3) It's not writers fault it is just design oversight. Bioware just forgot to add trigger "if Miranda is dead don't show this part".

4) You can see it only if you choose path that is not very consistent by itself(doing LM after SM).

5) You can see it only after the game ending that is not very likely by itself(Miranda dead, unloyal Jacob survived).

6) It is computer game after all. There always will be loose ends.

And seriously, the sheer fact that we are discussing this topic six months after game release is enough to mark it as unimportant.

Perhaps the error is because Jacob was only dreaming during his loyalty mission, that its all an elaborate piece of inception to allow him to move on from his deepset daddy issues and to make him feel warmer to to Cerberus, an organisation he's having doubts with.

Jacob's mind is the scene of the crime.

Heavy Risk...But the prize.

....or not.

Anywho I get stuff like that all the time, like getting a buzz from Miranda on the bridge after fighting that robotic eye in the cargo hold before hitting the collectors even though she's standing right next to Shepard at that moment. I just pretend it doesn't happen.

I just did Jacob's loyalty mission after the SM and then I'm thinking "huh, the illusive man is quite civil with me after destroying the collector base", so I choose renegade response just to be a dick. Next I expect Jacob to never find out who sent him the information and boom! Miranda shows up from the dead. I specificaly planned out the SM to decide who lives and dies. All I wanted was to see what happens if Miranda, Mordin, Thane, Jack, Grunt, and Zaeed died. Apparently they haunt me, half the crew that survived, and my squad until ME3. (Also I didn't even activate Legion until I was done with the collector base, by the way.) So, I guess I'll stay in character and tell Miranda she's a cerberus **** one last time for not telling Jacob, maybe she'll stay dead now. All I regret now is changing Miranda into the DLC armour, cause now I can't see her one last time in the half dressed peice of cloth she called "a uniform".
