Hey guys, I just started a new playthrough and noticed something weird about one of the scenes in the Illusive Man's base. First I noticed the strange demonic looking face in the backgound, and after examining that I also found a possible sublimnal message.


Here's the image from the start of the game.

 

And here I outlined the possible subliminal message plus the strange demonic looking face.


The best way to see this without the outlines is to open both pics and compare it to one another.


Is this just a coincidence or a classic case of subliminal messaging? I'll let you be the judge.

You can find simulcra in almost any object or texture if you look long enough. The human mind is fantastic at finding meaningful patterns where there are none - your subconcious just fills in the blanks.

As for finding the word "sex"... well...

I watched some subliminal messaging videos on youtube recently (you can check them out yourself, just type subliminal messaging in the search bar).
And something just didn't feel right about this screen, so I pasted the screen into paint, did some examining and found this.

I'm not doubting how you feel, Relix - I mean, I'm not you. And you might just be onto something - you never know. But my approach to things like this is always one of the human mind trying to make something abstract into something more meaningful... like the way people say clouds can look like animals, or you can find faces in the bark of trees - stuff like that.

Sure. I never said it was a subliminal message. I just said it's a possibility.

"Sex"? Really? I'm looking the picture and what I see are great big letters "A" and "I" (though the A might be a backwards "R"). As for the "face", that's just a Rorschach style blob. You can make it out as whatever you want it to be. I see an upside-down Rocket Drone.

It's nothing. The human mind is used to seeing face-like objects, that's why we thought there was a "Man on the Moon" (not the Apollo missions, I mean a visable face) and the "Face on Mars".
