Hello and welcome to anyone who enjoys role-play, adventure, and the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. We are launching our PW on October 1st and are currently finalizing beta testing. We hope that players will enjoy the unique focus of this dark and desperate age, and the incongruously beautiful world it is set in.
It has been heavily customized in order to achieve our vision, and should provide some interesting surprises for all. We will be updating and tweaking on a regular basis, and already have more fascinating custom content in the pipeline. We are fortunate in having a small but loyal fan base of excellent role-players who followed us here from our old server (RoME2), and we are looking forward to attracting and meeting many more new players.
Please visit our Website for the full details and a glimpse of what we have to offer. From there you will be also be able to link to our Forum.

Hello;
I would just like to update this topic. The Rise of Sauron PW is open and we would love to have anyone come join us that loves Tolkien. We have a large crafting system in place and over 120 areas to explore. We would love for you to stop by. The forum address is still the same as the OP.

Excellent... I suggest you post status updates here occasionally when you make additions and before 'world events'.

Is magic allowed in this server? Like wizards, sorcerers, favored souls, etc?
It wasn't clear on the website; it mentioned the common knowledge of magic in Middle Earth being wielded only by the 5 Istari (and in a very subtle level by the elves: more like only healing and enchanting items).. And yet it provided a list of all magical classes and its spells, even high level and epic ones...

Many spellcasting classes have been disabled, other modified and a few available via applications only. Overall, the level of magic is quite low.
Do not expect to see wail of banshee or implosion of greater isaac missles as these are all disabled. instead expect to see spells like "confuse" or "sleep" to be considered as powerful.
I am the owner of that PW. Unfortunately, I am not much of a marketing guy.
Thank you all for playing TRS.
Cheers,
WK

We continue to add new content and update the server. Over 30 new quests have been added since the server went live and we have a good number of people playing. We just added some new quests for people new to our server to help them get started. More quests are on the way and the DM's are up to no good as well. Spell casting classes have been limited. You will not see PC's running around buffed to the max here. Base classes have been changed a bit to help prevent supper power build. We are seeing new players all alone and would like more, come give us a try

When can new players expect to see the greatest likelihood of DM interaction?

Most of the DM's can be on during the eaving hours. The server is in the GMT -5 time zone. So most Dm's are on around 7PM and later in this timezone.

Hello. The server continues to grow as it is now opened and being all nifty in a Lord of the Rings type way. class changes, PrCs, significant updates, DM presence are all the name of the game. I have provided two links.
Comments - Figuire if we put them all in one place it makes it more efficent and the link to our boards.

A few of the players made the following:
Middle Earth Map with some section overviews: note this is only external sections not any internals - Specifically Mordor and Moria are missing.
