Mr Gaider confirmed that Duncan is dead and if he is to appear in anything then that wold be prior to Origins.

Kristoff was dead too

So? I think that quote meant he won't be in anything that proceeds Origins in any shape/form.

Hey man, he may be dead, but that doesn't mean he couldn't Obi-Wan that s**t.

Also. We're not entirely sure where Morrigan and the Warden (or at least, my Warden) went when they passed through the Eluvian (spelling?). Maybe they went to the place dead people go? Maybe they'll see Duncan there?

Duncan returned to the fade as a Spirit of Beard and possessed Hawke.

Yes, Hawke looked pretty much like Alistair before the incident.

But that's what they did to Cailan! Unless of course one of the Hurlock Generals wanted it to adorn his private abode. I suppose you could be right.

Both ;)

I could totally picture a return trip to Denerim with a place for a statue where you see three different figures, pending on the ending you received in Origins - Alistair, Duncan, or Loghain

So Hawke's beard is kinda like a wig, and it's really Duncan's beard?

Well, Ducan wouldn't know where the other wardens went would he? You make up the story from there. Also it's possible that he may have been unable to come even if he was alive and wanted to. Personally, I think BioWare made sure to leave their doors open in Duncan's case.

Lol and I'm not saying the Devs "lie" per say about things like "Duncan is dead", but they may try and mislead (imo) if people start guessing in the right direction.

Hawke's beard would be a physical manifestation of Duncan's Epicitude that manifested when the Spirit possessed his body.

Considering they went to "the land beyond the fade" which represents the afterlife in both human and Dalish religion, that's a possibility.

Hey, I want to see the body.

So I can ****** on it and stick a blade in the chest with the words "Here lies the murderer of Ser Jory and treacherous deceiver of a half dozen hapless characters" engraved in the blade...

Duncan is dead.  Duncan is not resting.  He was a remarkable bird, with a remarkable beard that you had best not trim because it won't grow back because he is dead.  Gone.  Kaput.  An Ex-McGuffin, he's ceased to be.  Bereft of life, he rests in peace.

So please stop poking his corpse.

Poking is fun.

Well, at least more so than opening "Hawke the God Baby" threads twice a page.

Duncan being dead doesn't stop him from floating around in the fade.  Didn't souls go to the Black City before it turned black?

You ruined my thread with facts.... :crying:

Do what many threads do: negate those clearly stated facts with your own opinions. =]

Duncan was spared due to his beard already having more than enough black to cover any necessities. hehe

I'm all for a dead Duncan.

The two main choices seem to either be a dead zombie Duncan, no thanks.

The other choice is an overused trope, Duncan was injured so bad, coma, blah blah, forgot who he was, and has been living as a turnip farmer all these years.

The other more believable thing, is Flemeth saved our sorry ass characters who weren't worth much back then. Why wouldn't she save Duncan? That might work, but it might grow a bit tiresome to have Flemeth involved in every damn thing.
