I was really sinking my teeth into Journeys.
Then it ended. Right when I finally completed a mission. Even worse, it took me 2-3 tries to kill the last boss (difficulty on hard) and it did not let me save after I finished it.
I was really enjoying it ... and now very disappointed. I really loved the part where they asked me how much I would be willing to pay to play the next installment. So much for my naive musings - I thought I had stumbled upon a free game, created to market Origins, which would actually keep me excited until November 3.
Oh well.
Did you see the end coming? (Journeys)

Well, first of all that game was not created directly to advertise for Origins. It was made to be played independently with Origins advertising for it. Besides, Journeys is episodic and the game is still in beta.

Yeah the surveys were kind of a downer. I doubt I'll play this if it isn't free. I'd rather play DAO.

It was just such a let down. I mean ... 4 hours in ... the characters were just starting to get good ... and BAM it's over! It's a tease.
Ghoxen - it was created to promote Dragon Age Origins. EA is trying to create a new IP, and every little addition helps. They are going to make more money (at least in the foreseeable future) off of Origins (and all the sequels that are bound to follow, with a name like Origins!) than Journeys, that's for sure.

I imagine they're trying to market to those who don't work (meaning those who play flash games at work). People will pay to play web based games.. I know people who have put in depressingly large amounts of money into Ogame. Granted, Journeys isn't nearly as deep, but really it doesn't have to be.

I got irretated by the surveys when i had to do them 10 times for it to register. So i just filled it out randomly in the end. (The one that got registerd).
Anyway. Yeah the ending sucked.

Wait.. are some of you people saying that you actually enjoyed DO:J?
I almost cheered when it was finally over - and then I realized that I had to sit through it 2 more times.

I was a bit disappointed, didn't get the Bard achievment because.. well, I thought there would be a quest or something (or a part of a quest) that brought it into focus for some odd reason. Instead I guess you just have to talk to him at the proper time.
I think I had about 2.5 hours of play time total when it ended.. I said I would pay money for another chapter, but definitely not if its so short. For a quick, free, diversion the game is great - its also great for helping to stave off DA cravings.. but I never thought it would be so short.
