Yes.

The only thing they cause to me with the dossiers is anger.

Next time someone from Bioware will have to write something on Miranda, I hope it will be someone who is interested and cares about the character.

People are making too big of a deal about the dossier, IMO. At least as far Miranda's sexuality goes. I mean, as a character she's obviously the femme fatale. Yet somehow some gamers are shocked that the character's backstory involves another lover besides Shepard. I just don't get it. I also don't get why some people want all the female LI options to be sweet & virginal. I suppose it has something to do with male insecurity.

Are you talking about her infertility? I don't think that means they don't care about the character. I actually think it humanizes her a great deal. She needed something like this. A lot of people actually started to like Miranda a little more after reading that dossier.

They're worried these encounters weren't in her "backstory" at all, but happening during the romance. Her username says "SR2".

Personally I'm just, "Meh". I wasn't romancing Miranda during Omega or Illium.

I think the fact that she's infertile (at least currently) actually adds to her character, not the other way around.

I think the fact that she's no puritan and that she isn't some sort of virginal character or and idealised feminine form adds to her character.

How does making her have 'faults' or acting as a woman who enjoys a fling now and then somehow mean that BioWare's writer responsible is someone who's out to get the character?

Frankly, I think every other character in the dossier is now at a disadvantage, because to me Miranda just seems more real, she suffers from a problem that does exist in the real world.

Pretty lame....a full and final confirmation of how Scale Itch got on board the SR2.

The SR2 login name does seem to imply that it happens while she is part of Shepard's squad, and on the Normandy. But it also happens early on in the game, on Omega. At that point all Shepard and Miranda have done with each other is flirt, at most.

Brings new meaning to her "I feel like I need a shower after coming here" comment, eh? He doesn't sound like a good performer.

Well, I'll never be able to hear that comment the same way again.

I notice the respective character fanbases seem to be the least inclined to enjoy that character's dossier, as if the fact their favorite character might have an embarrassing secret would somehow diminish them.

Eh.  The mention of Samara's bequeathed negligees was hardly a surprise, since she did "dance the nights away" as a Maiden.  Jack's emo poetry wasn't something to be terribly embarassed about, because she at least had a valid reason to seek to express herself like that.

I can accept that she was browsing the iPartner for casual sex (she seems to be above that, but meh, let a girl live I say) but what confuses me is why she was looking for a perfect man (healthy and with a good behaviour/personality)? Another theory is that perhaps she WAS looking to get preggers, but wouldn't actually have sex with anybody until AFTER the suicide mission, that would seem more in character of her in my opinion.

Why would she accept any less? And she isnt interested in personality beyond wanting a lack of one. Remember the one guy she accepted?

Miranda's profile establishes she brought Scale Itch on the SR2. If you have to start looking at lame relationship sites there's a problem....because you're essentially looking purely at losers anyway. So how long do you figure it took before she ran into a fake/expired medical report of some loser or got with some dude that screwed a varren the night before? Exactly.....not that long. That is essentially ultimate and undeniable absolute proof that it was her who brought scale itch on the Normandy. Kelly may be willing to sleep with any species and gender but she has standards....real ones that is.

That is a curious theory. So you believe that the 4th guy she made contact with had a STD?

I guess the conclusive proof would be if my shep got scale itch then! Also, it would imply that Miranda's being sleeping with other Cerberus crew mates that saucy minx!

If it was just an embarrassing secret (the dating) I wouldn't mind. But to give her a serious problem (the infertility), that's quite another matter. Miranda apparently was singled out for such treatment. Also, I definitely do not agree that she "needed this".

The dossiers were to give you background insight into characters that you wouldn't find out through other means. Whether or not she needed it was irrelevant, there are there just to flesh out the characters, their lifestyles, personality and struggles in a setting outside of the restricted confines of "on the mission" on board the Normandy or in a hostile combat environment.

I'm a big Miranda fan and this didn't really push me one or the other - just some more interesting tidbits about her life.

Well okay actually, like some have already said, it makes her seem even more human - even if she still has miles to go.

Example being her chat history with Oriana. She definitely cares (I mean prying doesn't even begin to cover it) but that's just her doing whatever it takes for someone she loves - no matter what Shepards personal relationship is with her. I her whole recent order summary hilarious especially the "women from illium and men from omega" book - not as funny as Grunt's order history but still pretty funny in her own unique way I suppose.

Which brings up the hot topic of infertility/looking for sex on iPartner. To me its obvious and though we'll probably never have any real proof (if Shepard were to demand answers from Miranda about it she'd tell him to go to hell and then end any relationship they might have). Women are picky on who they want to have a family with - or at least become inseminated by. She'd have to do a lot more digging than just a one night stand - did anyone not see how many qualities she took into consideration for Oriana's potential bf? With the exception of Mordin she's the most detail oriented person on the ship, it's why the Illusive Man picked her to head up Lazarus. To have her try and get inseminated through those means flies in the face of everything we know about her character so far. Unless she became very desperate and was willing to have sex with just about anyone, which clearly isn't the case as she turned down many callers, then I doubt she was looking to get pregnant.

Which leads to the other possibility, looking for a casual ****. I think this one makes the most sense and honestly its a double standard. The IM got praise for "tapping" all those chicks and had hot threesomes but when Miranda uses a high class dating service to find a guy just for a night where she can forget about all her responsibilities people go ape****? 50% of all ME2 players imported an ME1 character and I'm betting even more on here played ME1. How many of your Shepards got it on with the Consort despite knowing she was a lady of the night for many callers. Or in ME2 who decided to go for the gold and screw Jack first chance they got?

I tell yah some hypocrites need to change their underwear from all the bull they've been ingesting.

Edit: Changed my mind, she was trying to get pregnant - although I still think the other one is completely justifiable and people need to stop calling her a ****. Basically I was looking through this through 21st century eyes when we're talking about in the future. A person being in good health is an obvious demand but all the rest? If she doesn't like what's happening in her womb she's probably have the child under go some genetic engineering (she probably would no matter how perfect the child is). This would be different from her own conception because the child would be born of natural birth and would actually have a mother that deeply cared for him/her. This cause is further demonstrated that all her iPartner correspondence stopped after she learned that there was no way she could conceive.

I do not think she was trying to get pregnant from those encounter, hell I don't even think she was after sex. Her title "SR2" implies that she was either at the process of devoting herself on the Lazarus project, or was travelling the whole galaxy with Shepard at the time. Would getting pregnant "on the job" be practical on Miranda's point of view?

I interpret those dossier as though she was trying to recruit new Cerberus agents for the team, or her writer trying to light up her fanbase with a wicked sense of humor. After all, the writers wants you to know the Shadowbroker have eyesssss everywhere.:ph34r::ph34r:
