If she' s using the dating service just to have fun, great. But if she's using it as a mean to get pregnant, damn that's sad. There are much better ways to do it.
Of course, there's no evidence at all the dating service and the medical reports are somehow related. Maybe the writers are playing with us. Maybe I'm just being prejudicial and instead of looking at her as an independent woman who can enjoy sex with no drama, I see her as desperate one. Damn it.
Another thing worth mentioning, If you didn't do Miranda's loyalty mission, there's no chat excerpt with her sister. Nice, this DLC does take in account your progression in the plot.

I'd second this as a reasonable interpretation.pf17456 wrote...
The Shadow Broker's primary interest was acquiring information that could be used for the purpose of altering events and exerting control. For the most part each dossier and vid reveals points of vulnerability for each character, points that could be used to manipulate a character's behavior in a manner the SB decides.
Miranda's dossier suggests that dispite her self description of being 'near perfect' she sees herself as dammaged goods with questionable self esteem issues and underlying rage. Dangle a carrot of possible fertility in front of her and her loyalities might change.
Yes, all the dossiers had humor in them. But you could also take not-so-humorous things away from them, telling character traits. Miranda's one big imperfection is one of them. (And I would say that her fixation on conventional preganancy, rather than artificial means, is rooted in her self-identy and various daddy issues.)

It goes back to the caveman days.
Back then, the sole purpose in life was to increase the population of your clan.
If one caveman had relations with 40 women and got them pregnant, that's at least 40 new members to the clan. Thus, respect.
If one woman had relations with 40 men and got pregnant, she's not going to have 40 kids. She'll at least have one. Thus, she's wasting her time.
Over the many many years since then, its stuck. Men having tons of sex are looked at in a good sense while women end up looking like a *insert dirty word for women that have tons of sex*.
Thus, everyone's quick to jump on the "Miri is a Sexual Object" argument and make her look lesser than everyone else.
Seriously folks, let it go. She was trying to have a baby. That's it. She wasn't having ridiculous amounts of sex. She was looking for someone that could give her a child.
Unfortunately, it seems her father made sure that'd never happen.

1) I design her to be willful, knowing it will serve her well as an officer of my company.
2) I'm well aware that she's could use that will to fly the coop.
3) I design a biological imperative to bring her back to me should she ever decide to disappear. Easiest way? Build in an urge to have children.
4) Make her incapable of having children without this nice chemical treatment I keep in my desk drawer...
5) ????
6) Profit.

Nothing suggests Miranda's condition is anything but an accident. Oriana's creation even implies that her father didn't view her as finished goods.RinpocheSchnozberry wrote...

The medical report explicitly mentions they don't know if her infertility was genetic. It could be a side-effect of her biotic implants (she must be an artificial biotic because she was born before the first eezo accident) or any other random factor.Greed1914 wrote...
I found the medical report that she was infertile to be rather depressing. Even that part of her life was controlled. What I'm wondering though, is if it was a side-effect of her creation, or was deliberate. On the one hand, she was meant to carry on her father's legacy, so it would be strange to make her infertile, and I would guess that having the same person as both parents would cause complications. On the other hand, maybe he didn't want to risk someone hijacking his legacy by impregnating MIranda. One act of teen rebellion, and it could have fallen apart.
BTW, it's interesting to see that her dating habits have become a big topic here but her infertility, which I personallty found a lot more annoying (in fact, I resent Bioware for having given her this), gets a lot less attention.

Does it? I've heard people say that if you do her loyalty mission, but don't urge her to speak with Oriana, the excerpt will be there.... which it can't.jwalker wrote...

What the Shadow Broker's files reveal is the depth of her emotion and vulnerability, although she works hard to show only her reason, ability, and strength.

Damn, why do people do that ?
I always tell her to talk to her sister. So, I haven't tested that alternative. Most likely, I never will

This iPartners thing has just fried my brain. I wish they'd just pop in and tell me if I'm supposed to take it seriously or if it's just a joke. If it's just a joke I'll have a laugh and stop thinking about it.
Just saying.
