Hey guys!

Well i am an half elf ranger! At lvl 3 (or 5, can't really remember) (ranger) i've put 1 point into "sorcerer" to have the level 1 arcane spells needed for the Archane Archer prestige class, it happens that i am already level 8 in ranger and i still can't unlock AA prestige class.

I can't understand why,because i have de BAB at 8, i have level 1 arcane spells and i have the point blank shot and the long bow speciallization....

Why is that i can't become an AA ? I am at old owl well and i have already unlocked the divinechampion prestige class and i still can't be an AA...


Please guys i need your help

If this is no typo, then because you have weapon specialization instead of weapon focus. Which is, normally, impossible since weapon specialization requires weapon focus and some levels of fighter (4 I think).
So if you used a character editor, or something like that, you simply gave your character the wrong feat.
Or perhaps your charisma is too low? I am not sure, but this might affect your ability to cast lvl 1 spells, and that way hinder the unlocking of arcane archer.

Edit: A quick research proved me right.
If you want to cast level 1 sorcerer spells, you need at least 11 charisma (10 + desired spell level).

First place I'd look. If you don't have at least 11 charisma, you are not able to cast sorceror spells, so you don't actually meet the prerequisites.

It's strange cuz in the prerequisites it doesn't say 11 charisma... and i can cast my lvl 1 sorcery spells :S, like magic missle...
So... what can i do know ? put an extra point in charisma ? is that so ?
And another question... is my character messed up ? know that i am putting AA prestige class so late ?

The prerequisite says ability to cast level 1 arcane spells, not having a level of an arcane class. They are similar, but not the same. A sorcerer with 8 charisma can not cast an arcane spell, so they would not meet the prerequisite. As a sorcerer, you would need at least an 11 charisma, which gives you the ability to cast 1st level sorcerer spells. Inability to cast spells because of insufficient primary stats is something that pops of occasionally.



What is your base (unmodified by magic items) charisma?



I'm assuming you actually have weapon focus and not weapon spec, since only fighters can have weapon spec and you say you are a ranger.

I think nwn lacks that kind of info... i didn't know about that and they do explain that...



So, now i have to wait till i lvl up again a put 1 point into charisma ?

NWN itself tells you that you need 10 + x charisma to cast spells as a sorcerer on the class select screen. If you'd have scrolled down a little, there's some text that starts with "Spells:" that described how spellcasting for sorcerers works (or any other spellcasting class).



You don't gain attribute points every level. If I remember correctly, it's once every...four levels or so that you get one point.

This is the kind of situation, where I tend to use a character editor.

I know it's kinda cheating but I hate starting over because of nuisances like this.

waiting another 3 levels (in his case to reach level 12) to reach my desired PC would also drive me mad, and perhaps ruin my build.

So if you have more than 11 intelligence you might subtract that one lvl of sorcerer and replace it with a lvl of wizard.

If not, you would have to give your pc one point of charisma and take one away in another dump stat.

I used that editor, i had 11 in inteligence and i don't need it right ? i also had 13 in wisdom, i actually replaced the extra point in inteligence and put it into charisma, but i was wondering if i needed wisdom...



Now it's just wait to lvl up

Looks like that problem is solved then. Lucky you, you had that one point in an unneeded stat, so you had not to sacrifice anything important.
