Hello Everyone,
Im in Helm's Hold at the main entrance and theres 4 Guardian Armors and a altar that looks like a hand.
My question is there a way to get the Guardian Arnors to fight by yourside(espically against Dester)?
Thanks in Advance,
qwert

IIRC there's special gem in the courtyard to do that, but alas, they will only fight on that level.:(

Fine. All what matters being the XPs... It might even be more interesting to fight those armors actually.
XPs, the only NWN morality.

I go in the back way. Clear the peison, trade with Johney, go up clear the first level, take the side door into the courtyard, get the etch gem fron the corpse by front gate, put the gem on the alter and get my 50XP.

I think what people may be referring to regarding the guardian armors and experience is that, as I recall, when you put the gem in the pedestal, the armors become friendly to the PCs and then wander the level taking down those you would normally fight. Because of that, some consider them XP drains since you aren't killing all the baddies you normally would. Meanwhile, if you don't use the gem, they will attack you and they can be worth quite a bit more than 50 XP once you take them down. Also, I am pretty sure you can both fight the armors and then put the gem in the pedestal for 50 additional XP. I actually did something like that by accident the first time through and it wasn't until a later replay that I realized the armors could be friendly.

Basically you can kill everyone there, including the armors, use the gem, and be rewarded by NWN for your extreme humanity.Geee, I so love this game!

I'll have to try killing them then using the gem.

Not everyone plays NWN to maximize exp points. Just whatever floats your boat.

The only downside to killing them after they have been "converted" is 1) one or more of them may get destroyed by hostiles on that level, and 2) it's quite easy for a low level PC to destroy them one-by-one using the chamber doorway to restrict their advance and a significantly tougher combat challenge when all four can flank.  (Then again, I can't remember if a forced attack on 1 caused all the others to revert at the same time.) I generally forego the gem XP because, in the big picture, that 50XP is paltry.

Oh, and MrZork is point on target about the XP drain... the bigger your party, the less XP per kill so unless you can prevent them from wandering (i.e. immediately attack after placing the gem), they will penalize way more than the gem XP amount.

Well, if you are on the way to maximize XPs don't place the etched gem until you have killed all the enemies (don't get to Dexter too soon or won't be able to come back). Once you put the gem on the stone hand the armors will scatter around without moving from their new positions. You may want to attack them now since they are separate and easier(?) to kill.
