If any female dwarf were to return from Origins and be a LI, I'd like to see Dagna. I thought she was absolutely adorable in Origins. So friendly and full of life, just an all around pleasant person to be around.

Maybe though.
I still think i'd prefer a new one, but a female dwarf romance could be interesting.

that is what will result in the offspring between a human male and femal dwarf. It is far worse than a bhaalspawn. this half-dwarf half human will drive drunk from bars, beat their spouse, get fired from their jobs, speak in constant slur, dance a jig, wear PLAID!
wait a minute...I just described a race of humans in our world.

Er...no.
Elves being done to death? Give me a break. Only Zevran was a LI, Velanna wasn't.

But Oghren wasn't either, and he showed up in both, DA:O and DA:A. And he was really sexy.
But seriousness aside, I'd hate to have to turn down a female dwarf girl but I surely would.

*raises eyebrows* Female elven romances are done to death not in dragon age but in bg2 and pretty much any fantasy you can think of. Blame Tolkien.

Well, I'm not speaking for all the other lores and franchises, but for Dragon Age.
And in Dragon Age, elven romances aren't done to death. Not that I want a million elven romances, but a female elf romance would be nice. I like elves, you know
Maybe Tolkien is to blame, but I don't think Dragon Age or many other things would have existed without him.

I can't find the exact quote but I know that one of the devs said that female elven romance have been done to death and that's why they weren't in the original dragon age, there were three in bg2 after all. He even said that Zevran didn't really count as an elf.

Well, that's lame. BG2 shouldn't count, as it isn't part of DA, and also, I haven't played it.
And Zevran is an elf, so...why he doesn't count? That makes no sense.
Human romance is done to death, and well...

I think what he meant was that Zevran isn't very elf-like. I don't really care if there's a female elven romance, if it's done well, why not. I'm just looking at the facts and they're telling me that it's not happening.
As for humans being done to death, I agree. It's why I never romance them. (except for Alistair and only because I love sarcasm.)
edit: wth? why didn't the quotes work properly?

Haha, well, just 'cause you haven't played them, doesn't mean that negates the fact that elven romances have been "done to death." Frankly, I'd take a dwarven romance over an elven or human romance, but the fact of the matter is that most people are more interested in romancing someone of their own race. Sigh.Lord_Valandil wrote...

Hey, I'm not saying that "it's not true". It's been done to death, I know.
But not in Dragon Age! And that's my point.
I don't really care if it has been done in Baldur's Gate, Lord of the Rings, etc.
Dwarves are OK, I don't have a problem with them. But I prefer elves. Sigh.

Maybe the WRITERS want to create something new and fresh? If they repeat so many things, it becomes cheap production.

I cannot blame them for that. But I think it's a little too late to make something -completely- original.
I mean, a big part of Dragon Age literally screams "Tolkien". So I don't see the point in sweeping the elven romance under the carpet and pretend that eliminating it is a step forward. Maybe for some people, not for me.
But in the end, the decision lies with them, not with us.

Perhaps, but that doesn't change the fact that, if written well (which it would no doubt be), many people wouldn't be too arsed with the idea of romancing a dwarf.AlexXIV wrote...
Well I'd agree with one of each race/sex. Elves may have been done, but certainly not to death. If I'd get to romance a dwarf but no elf I'd seriously question Bioware's common sense. I feel pretty safe to say that elves have a larger lobby than dwarves.
Though I really don't see the big deal. Dwarves in the DAverse are not only just a tiny bit shorter than the elves, but they also have the most interesting lore in the game.

Well they don't need to make her stereotype elven. I don't think humans and elves have that different personalities. If they made Hawke a dwarf, ok, then I'd see more point to dwarven romance than elven. But Hawke is human.
