Seriously, what's up with trying to rile up people for no reason? And oh that "child" argument again....please think of something smart to say THANX.

I personally have not done a dwarf romance yet, but I'd like it as an option in DA2, diversity is always cool! :D

P.S. However....I don't think calling humans boring trying to prove dwarves rock (which we all know, no need to snap at human/elf lovers) will help, it might start another war.

I wasn't trying to rile people up, I just stated my opinion that females dwarfs have faces similer to that of children. I don't care if bioware added a dwarf romance or not.

The fullness and roundness of the cheek and mandible, the curved philtrum, how their mesiolabel folds is very shallow "compared to other races" all of this are considered facial characteristics of children.

Yeah, who in the right mind would say that female dwarfs have faces similar to that of kids huh guys?

But they're not children. This isn't about feeling attracted to in-game models, this is about how a romance could happen in Thedas, where there are no such problems of how odd or inhuman someone looks.

I am sorry for going ad hominem, but seeing your "Mass Erotica" group choice, it would seem the only thing you are after is hawt sex scenes and pretty faces. But that's not what romances are about, at all.

Dwarves are not children, they are not depicted as such. Any similarities you might see them to have is your own thing to deal with.

I didn't mean it as a slight. I was joking around; most of my favorite characters in DA:O are human, even if I didn't care for the romance.

All right then:)
Now can't we all just group hug and post dirty pics of our dwarves getting it on?:D

It very much depends on the kind of attraction. If the sight of child face makes you go "aww, cute" then it's not "sickening" but hardwired reaction -- nature's way to make adults of the species protect the offsprings from harm, even if the children in question aren't their own.

Obviously, that's very different from sexual attraction but i don't think it's the faces that generally make people think "whoa, hot" when it comes to the dwarves; not when men supposedly and stereotypically don't look above the neckline anyway. Posted Image

Female DA dwarves (facially speaking) always kinda reminded of Kirsten Dunst.

Perhaps a little fuller and rounder in the face than is commonly considered "beautiful" by society's size-zero obsessed media, but still very much an attractive and schmexy lady.

Nowshin- You really don't think good-looking dwarves can be made without mods?? I have to disagree with that sentiment. My female Aeducan is (and not empty bragging) one of the best female characters I've ever created in a game, and I did it without any mods. Just the vanilla game on my Xbox 360.

shepard_lives- You've made yourself clear, and perhaps I didn't, focusing on the body issue. I personally don't see a child-like face on dwarves. Maybe youthful, cherubic, but women can have that kind of face, too. I'm attracted to all facets of female dwarves, face, body, all. I understand what you're saying and I don't think any further clearing-up is needed.

My god, though, the number of trolls here... its sickening...

I stated earlier that I would want a well-written, well-thought-out LI if they did make a female dwarf LI. The writing is paramount, but on the same concourse, a character can be made in mind with their personality being very fit for a romance subplot. Its been done in the past. If Bioware focused on it, they can make a female dwarf companion a very suitable LI, and a lot of the haters would be silenced in that case. Bioware can handle and create any phenomenal personality they want, so making a personality for said hypothetical female dwarf LI is NO PROBLEM. I'm just trying to show that people find their physique attractive as well, because that is probably what helps them determine what kind of LIs to create.

I don't think the dwarves look childish at all. They have very round features is all and the perfect skin tone that is in place maybe the only reason I can slightly see why some people might think that. I think the models of the dwarves makes it very clear that they are not children. And frankly as a girl myself, I love playing some short, curvy thing that doesn't look like holding a sword is gonna break her in half! But, tis my opinion...

I love the idea of having a dwarven LI, anything to bring something new to the table of fantasy gaming.

Well I guess you were better at making dwarves than me, who utterly failed at using the CC the 1st time. Over time I got better, yes, but at first I couldn't make a satisfying dwarf at all.:( I guess I had impossibly high standards and extremely abominable skills:lol:

Ooooh:O Can we see pics of your beauty? I like seeing pretty chars:wub:

A little off-topic, but seeing as we are speaking of char creation, the companion facemods you have in your sig are really good. Aside from Leliana's maybe; I feel your version makes her look too meek and modest. But still, great job.

Yes, this post contributed absolutely nothing to the main discussion. I promise I won't do that again. :D

I would definitely love romance, I spent most of Awakenings wishing my BFF Sighrun was a love interest.

I can't see the problem with a Dwarf romance option. It would make a nice change.

Elves and Humans are always hogging all the action! Dwarves need love too!

Given the choice to romance either Leliana, Morrigan or Sighrun, it would be Sighrun without a doubt.

I'm a little hesitant because I made her overall head look very feminine (and not boxy at all like some dwarf heads), and as a result some of these people who think dwarves look like children may mistake my Aeducan for looking like one whereas she has a more regal, pretty face. But hey, if you're fighting a war, can't do it without guns, right? I gotta put something on the line. I'll share my female Aeducan than (warning, these are from digital camera shots to a TV, so quality isn't as good as from PC screenshots):

Name: Sundira Aeducan
class: Rogue
Specializations: Duelist, Legionnaire Scout
Romance: Alistair
Armor: Wades Dragonskin Armor set
Weapons used: Dwarven Longsword(silverite), daggers of various kinds, Saw Sword(silverite), Kallak, Vigilance(unfortunately with the "starfang" awakening glitch, which I don't care much about)

I'm not sure why I uploaded both the bodyshot from the profile and the one from one of my digital camera uploads. I guess the different lighting can help one notice different things.

The above is one of my favorite images in the game, with darkspawn surrounding the warden in Awakening, and the Warden knowing this and slowly looking up and then eventually around.

Anyway I picked the best pics I could, and they're mainly from the bioware site itself :P. I personally don't think she looks like a child at all, as woman can very well have those features. If anyone else wants to argue otherwise, then whatever, its their viewpoint.

ahahah all these things about dwarf = child

that make me think of this :
I and my man were going to shopping.... in the street, we passed a guy who mumbled :"pfff, pedophile"
my man said "pardoooooon??!!!" and the guy strangely walk quickly away.

why? because I'm very small. (average 1m50)
these sort of things make me laugh, but some people are sometimes very pathetic.... :pinched:

So I say YES for a dwarf LI !
love isn't reserved to tall people!
