You guessed, did not present any facts.
I see no reason to think that the woman is a half-dwarf, something that is extremely rare and only vaguely hinted to even exist. Doubtfully even a dwar, she is not that short.

The problem here was your tone. She is short, has an oddly shaped face, looks like a shemale, therefore she is our coveted prize we all expect to have as a love interest.

I already apologized for my tone, and have said I support you.

1 There is no way to have any facts one way or the other, but I did state that bioware had said that they were resizing the proportions.
2. She is no taller then the dwarf pic that ShadyKat posted above.
3. Nobody can deny her atypical featues. It would reason that bioware would present the LI that looks most pretty in the conventional context. Unless they were forshadowing something. Why did bioware show that possible LI in his flashback?
4. regardles of my initial teasing tone, you have still not stated how this would make you feel.
5. Half dwarfs being so rare actually makes her more likely to be a dwarf. Bioware WANTS to give you rare atypical characters.

Just because BioWare LIs have been "conventional" before doesn't mean they won't try anything new. It's possible that she may be considered the flagship LI in DA2. They're trying new things.

I dont think their LIs have been conventional.
But they do seem to know what most males generally like in looks.

We know nothing about that personality.
Now dont tell me they dont have a single conventionally pretty LI to show.

As to her being the flagship romance, the default one you mean?.... Well. I know most people would dislike the idea of having her romance forced into hawks past. Espically if you cant interact with her.
And if you mean flagship in that its the default cannon they go off of..... again, why advertise a LI whose face seems so different when you dont know that person. Why make that default if not for forshadowing.

......
Im trying to be as respectful and supportive as I can, but I just dont get why you guys are not supporting this idea.
Its more proof of a LI for your race then anyone else has in the entire game.

"We want a female drarf LI!"

"Hey guys, I think its possible that that verry short flash back of hawke's could prove that you do indeed get your female dwarf LI, and Bioware is confident enough in it to hint at it in their first cannon trailer!"

"NOOOOOOOO! That cant be a dwarf! Not even a half dwarf!"

Isnt there anyone who is even vaguely hopeful at this prospect?
I know if the trailer showed a short pirate woman with even slightly pointy ears, the Female Elf LI peeps would be ecstatic. Even if someone did bring it up in a slightly teasing tone.

If they made a dwarf love interest look like a human in the trailer just for sake of some sort of safety, then I would not know what to think of it.

She's not a dwarf. How you could even think that she is boggles my mind. She's Rivaini, which is no doubt why her facial structure/appearance is different. Like someone said, her "height" is due to the fact that he's bending her backwards. Dipping her. Like how uber romantic, cinematic kisses tend to go.

She reminds me of Rumanian gypsies for some reason.

Well that was a clear evasion that answered absolutely none of my questions.

For reference.

So your view is that that is the default human female LI they decided to show just forever just because. And it is a human because..... well, it is.
Well.... I suppose I cant really argue with that.

I bid you ado.
Good luck on your female dwarf LI..... If you still want it that is. Really am not sure why you are all against the idea of them slipping you hints of your LI in the cannon trailer. But whatever.

A common misconception, the truth is that we don't see Hawke stood next to her, he is in fact standing on a box making him the dwarf.

Where did the dwarf female love interest discussion leave off at?

Or maybe an Orlesian privateer. Hmm, I like the sound of that.

tis this!

but yeah. I think that a female dwarf interest would be a very welcomed, very interesting step forward. Should we not get our male dwarf love interest, a female is right next in line. <3

Didn't Gaider confirm she was Rivaini? But yeah. That lady isn't a dwarf.

I really like to know where all this 'I like to romance dwarves' thing comes from. There must be reasons for it but I really can't think of any. Originally I just thought it is some sort of joke.

Wow, some people don't have the same tastes as others? What a shocker! I'll need to remember that for pretty much every single conversation I have in my life ever.

Some people like dwarves.

I still like to know where it comes from. I am pretty simple. I like what most people like.

Um, it doesn't come from anywhere. Some people have different tastes and like dwarf ladies. There's no real origin or meme it comes from.

The human models don't have as pronounced ones. That much is pretty obvious.

So people who ask for dwarven romance would also do with more curvy human females?

That's pretty much the answer to my question then.

Trope-y Traditional fantasy/ sci fi races stem from humanoid aspects anyway, though I see your point.

Not talking about humans. Talking about dwarven lasses and their very finely proportioned figures. It doesn't mean I don't like human gals or elven maids. Just that I happen to appreciate dwarven ones as well.
