Perhaps, but that doesn't change the fact that, if written well (which it would no doubt be), many people wouldn't be too arsed with the idea of romancing a dwarf

Though I really don't see the big deal. Dwarves in the DAverse are not only just a tiny bit shorter than the elves, but they also have the most interesting lore in the game.

Well depends, I for one would rather romance Shale(Golem) than Shale(Dwarf).

The problem with people being against romancing "midgets" is kind of odd.
These love plots don't exactly exist solely for eye-candy and hot but awkward porn scenes. Just like in a good book or a film, an interesting love story can enrich the bigger tale.

True. But then again, would you romance a Broodmother with the offering of an interesting love story?
I know it's not the same.

Idk, if I like someone I can be friends. If I want more then friendship it'd be about physical attraction too.

I think gaider stated before that he will not do any kind of dwarf romance because it is just feels just too "pedophilic" for him.

Did he ever mention paedophilia, or was it your own addition?

Besides, there are other writers as well.

I have to say, If I were tending bar, I don't think I'd feel the need to ask Oghren for ID.

That doesn't make sense, if you can't do "any kind" of dwarf romance why can we be involved in a romance in dragon age if we're a dwarf? That is after all a kind of dwarf romance

Well that'd be like saying people who have a relationship to short people feel pedophilic. I can't really agree on that. I wouldn't mind an elf or human of the size of a dwarf. As long as it isn't a dwarf.

He said that he would not write one (and also specified that he WOULD write dwarf/dwarf, just not dwarf/human). That doesn't mean that one of the other writers won't.

No offense, but this is absolute utter bullcrap. Someone on another thread I follow posted a screenshot of an old forum post from Gaider stating that he will not, in fact, leave out Dwarven romance in future Bioware titles (and this was in 2007, I believe). Once I find the post I'll quote it here.

Lord_Valandil, for once I disagree with you on something. I seriously believe elven romance, whether male or female, has been done to death as well, and regardless if its not the same, Tolkien started the trend for all fantasy games to include this and dwarven-romance supporters have been ignored since :(. I seriously hope you're not supporting holding back such an option.

If you need to see why there is in fact a demand for female dwarven love interests, do the following:

1. Look at the thread called "Dwarf Thread: Now With More Schleets" and look around the posts, and even ask questions. The main posters will be happy to show why they love dwarves, male and female

2. Look up the following artists on DeviantArt: Aimo, soignee. I believe Aimo has an account here, and I know soignee does. Both of them have amazing female figures in their dwarven art, especially Aimo's original character "The Stone Temptress." That, to me, is what a REAL woman looks like :D

I personally have been craving a female dwarf LI in any Dragon Age title since my first go at Dragon Age Origins. I seriously hope there is one in DA2, but if there isn't, I'll settle for Varric as a possible female Hawke LI and hope that beyond DA2 there will be a beautiful, sexy female dwarf for a PC to romance.

Found the quote I mentioned :). This is from another DA2 LI wishlist thread.

Actually,
yes it does. You're saying a character that doesn't have human
proportions won't be pleasing to the public, yet Garrus is one of the
most popular romance interests in Mass Effect 2 and he's everything but
human.

Exception, not the rule.  I don't claim dwarves
can't be attractive.  I am saying they don't have the same appeal as a
human/elf, or even qunari.  So bioware's development efforts would be
better spent elsewhere.

Oh no, of course not. I'm not against dwarven romance, I said in the previous page that I'm OK with dwarves, just not my cup of tea :P And what I said about the Broodmother...just joking.
However, I woud really love to see a female elf LI. Maybe it's been done to death, but also the story of the "Chosen one who saves the world", and well, we got the Warden, and he's such a cool character.
If done well, Elven romance could be great as well. Just my opinion, my fault for being an elven lover :innocent:

Point taken about "chosen one" plot. And no worries, I just get particularly defensive over what I perceive as people making trollish statements about Dwarf love (the hate on the threads is unbelievable and large).

I have Stone Fever, and am damn proud of it. You should take a look into it ;). You might end up a new convert :P

Never say never, maybe I'll convert :D who knows, if done well, I could like dwarven romance as much as I like elven romance. For now, I'll stick with my pointy-eared friends

But seriously, I want my female dwarf romance! There's such a growing demand for it, I'm sure a few months from now it'll actually be a popular demand.
