As much as I tend to dislike Dwarves and all, I have to say the whole "they look like children" thing is pretty ridiculous. They really don't.

Hear, hear. I can understand why some might not like the idea of Dwarf romance (each to their own afterall, and Dwarves have so often been depicted in non-romantic ways: for example LotR) however all this comparing them to children boggles my mind. In DA they are not even that short, just shorter and stockier than the other two races.

I see no reason why a Dwarf romance, be it male or female, shouldn't be included if there is a good idea behind it. *is hopeful*

There is nothing lolita about Dwarves. Lolita depicts an underage female, and lolicon implies attraction for childlike features, such as no breasts or curves. In other words, they're either children or in their very early teens. Dwarven females may be short and round faced, but they have massive curves and boobage. They can be incredibly sexy if one is inclined to it, in a very womanly way. Of course, everyone has different sexual preferences and don't need to find shorter women attractive, but calling dwarven women "preteen girls with large breasts" is a huge misconception.

I am supportive of a female dwarf romance, because I felt we didn't have enough of them in DA:O, unless you played one yourself. It could be rather interesting if well written. The only major female dwarven characters we got in the Dragon Age Universe up do date were Utha, from The Calling, and Sigrun from Awakening, and I found both of them to be loveable characters who kicked major butt. Not mentioning, I have a personal love towards the female Aeducan - the Dwarf Noble origin was *incredible*, especially if played as a woman. I think there's great potential in there.

Of course, no one needs to follow it. Different tastes, different people. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Let's take a little sex ed refresher course, shall we? The difference between adult dwarves and children is that dwarves have clearly visible secondary sex characteristics.

Seriously how hard is this to understand? Do adult humans under 5' look like kids to you?

No no, I perfectly understand that the people who advocate for a dwarf LI are attracted by the physique. That's absolutely comprehensible.
 
I think I didn't make myself sufficiently clear.
While the body is a problem (the curves are great, but they're too big boned) the real problem for me are the facial features. Aside from the character's personality, a pretty face is what I look for in LIs. And dwarf faces do not cut it, not even remotely.
Instead, I am an elf admirer. You know why? Because elven girls are short (and I love short girls) and waaaaaaaaaay more likely to be pretty. Best of both worlds. I can see why people would dislike them for their skinny physique: it lacks sensual elements. But this is a game, and so I don't need to feel any kind of sexual attraction to them. Instead, I romantically admire them for their graceful, ethereal figures.

Synopsis:
In my eyes, dwarves are inelegible for romance because
A) Their facial features are ugly.
Their physique does not fit my romantic ideal of a woman. With "romantic" I mean an ideal where sexual attraction does not come into play.

I am willing to clarify my thoughts further in case of misunderstandings or disagreement.

Nothing else conveyed my expression and emotion of total unamusement and apathy than that post and how it was set up.

Anyway, something tells me that if there is a dwarf LI, it will be Varric. It just seems like it could be very difficult to create an all-around attractive dwarf woman. Great, now I sound as shallow.

I support this just as much, really. I'd love to romance a dwarven lady in DA:O, but I believe the female forumites reacted really well to the likes of Gorim and Leske, which might've given a little nudge in the male direction. Before Origins, I would've recoiled at the idea of a dwarven romance, and look at me now! Seeing us all heartbroken over Gorim might've persuaded them to throw us gals a bone.

Still, I'd love to have a little cutie like Sigrun for my Hawke in DA2.

Because if you are that says more about you than anything. I wonder how you are seeing children if a voluptuous short woman resembles a child to you. I don't even want to try to understand.

Also, pedophilia and lolita hentai are exploitative. They focus on and sexualize kids, who have no real concept of sex or consent. How this is the same as an adult, who happens to be of shorter stature, portrayed in sexy ways or being sexual I have yet to figure out. To compare the two is frankly offensive because you're not only talking about short people in a video game, but short people in general. It's mind boggling and pathetic that a comparison is even being made.

Not to mention huge part of what makes kids well, kids, is their mentality and near zero life experience and/or knowledge how the world works. The only way one could overlook that difference between a kid and an adult woman would be by never interacting with her in manner that involved exchange of thoughts... like talking to them.
