Just finished my first male warden and romanced both Lel and Morri. But Lel, was kinda wierd in a good way, while Morrigan was a **** in a good way. It just seemed Lel disapproved of every girl I talked to, like those girls in redcliffe, Morri would only lose a tiny drop while Leliana would get this massive approval drop and ****. What I found funny is it just seemed with Lel and Morri were in a competition with each other. I would talk to Morri all the sudden Lel is all "YOUR WADING THROUGH HER SWAMP". I lol'd. The only girl Lel seemed to approve of me with was Isabella. But I find angry Lel attractive, so it all worked out.
Why is Leliana so possesuve (sorry if spelled wrong)

Lot of Leli fans. Ok this probably won't fly over so well.
Leliana really does seem to be slightly off center to me throughout all my playthroughs. She'd make a good friend (cog dissonance makes a lot of things possible) but look at where she is in her life. She's just been betrayed by her lover and mentor of how many years, tortured in a dungeon and then escaped through the skin of her teeth. She's so open to suggestion through out the game and in constant need of affection, I wonder if she's ever recovered from all that. Factoring in how she commits suicide in an US ending, I really have my doubts about her state of mind.

I don't think anyone wouldn't be a little damaged from those events. Marjoliane was a pretty bad person, and she left Leliana out to dry. I think a natural reaction to that would be recover(two years of that) and the move on(find someone else). She does flirt a lot, but she has hardly the amount of emotional baggage as Morrigan or Alistair despite what she has been through.
As for the suicide yeah that caught me off guard and is quite extreme.
Also for the OP: Morrigan is by fare more possessive than Leliana in fact I would argue Leliana(approval wise) is the easiest companion to dump/break up with.

If one is earnest about aquiring insights into her character through love triangles, to me the obvious conclusion to draw from them is that Leliana is a complex, caring, sensitive character whose feelings get hurt when someone does jerky things to her.
Leliana knows that Alistair would treat the warden well, in contrast to her estimation of Morrigan, hence the varied reaction. She also responds that way because Leliana is not callous. She actually cares about the feelings of others and doesn't want to be the cause of pain in someone she has a good opinion of.
Why anyone would think it is "fun" to do that to someone, particularly to a character who has been put through so much already, is beyond me...
In regards to her mental state...If I had been through all that Leliana had, I'd likely become a very jaded, unhappy individual. Yet despite everything she's been through, Leliana still manages to find beauty in the world, leave the shelter of the Chantry to fight for that and what she believes in, and open herself up to the vulnerability of loving again. To me that serves to demonstrate a remarkable psychological resilience. Sure, she still has a lot of "risk factors" and emotional scars, but at least she has the courage to wear them on her sleeve. I think she deserves credit for that. Of course, I am a Leli-fan so I suppose I'm biased.
