As a loyal Dragon Age fan and player - even after DOA and Witchhunt, I'm curious if those of us who have been there from the beginning will receive some sort of discount, or free copy, of the sequel. I honestly can't believe we were made to pay so much for DOA, which was a pointless add-on, and Witchhunt, which, though expensive, gave us such a short, short reprieve from our otherwise stressful lives.
The original game, however, has been amazing, and the majority of downloadable content was well worth the price. Is there any way that those of us who have downloaded all of the add-ons, and purchased DOA, can be rewarded or otherwise compensated for the above two additions?
It never hurts to ask...hopefully.
We may not deserve it, but it's worth a shot...

Wait, seriously? All right, OP, I'll bite. Why do we owe you anything more after providing a product that you purchased and played? Why would we offer a discount or a free product when you complain you didn't like a previous product? in short, why would anyone but you agree to ant of this? what benefit do we get out of this?

I hope not. While I strongly disagree with the OP (and am still waiting for reasons why we would want to do such a thing), I don't want people getting mean and nasty with people they disagree with.

Maybe, maybe not, but we have released free DLC to the Cerberus Network and held the occasional contest for free swag or store items. And there's always teh free swag we give away at conventions. I mean, it's not like we've never given away free stuff. But our entire business is making videogames. it would hardly make sense to give away our product just because you bought a previous product.Blastback wrote...
As loyal fans, we don't deserve any kind of free content.
We have also released free patches to our games. certainly not to everyone's satisfaction, but we've still done it.Maybe some fixes to any issues remaining in the game *hint hint*
, but free merchendise, no.
We also do this, in the form of promo videos, our writers and designers talking about stuff, project leads like Mark Darrah and Mike Laidlaw and Dave Gaider talking about design philosophies and the development process and world lore. All on this free BioWare Social Network! What Bioware could maybe do is give long term fans some sort of sneak peak at coming material. I think that that would be a nice way to reward long time fans. But free games, DLC, etc, no.
Am I missing anything?

Call of Pripyat was released in February, 2010. Was the STEAM discount available before Call of Pripyat was released, or is it a current promotion?TheAges wrote...
There is a loyalty discount for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat on Steam if you own a previous Steam STALKER game, $10 off. So it has been done.

Ill be happy with some in game armour or something, but that should be for every new copy, like DAO, rather than loyal fans.
Yeah, I'm all for small extras. Especially as a reward for loyalty, but something that everyone can access is also good.
Is it smart business? I have no idea. So long as it's both small and extra, that can't be a bad thing.
I think there's a difference between that kind of incentive, however, and feeding into someone's entitlement. Not that I think that's what anyone is doing here, precisely, but I think you might understand how it can seem when someone essentially says "I demand free stuff! Gimme!"
But who doesn't want free stuff? I mean, really.
