What do you define as 'Been here from the beginning?.' :o)

Here's what BioWare gets from long-time fans: hatred. And loathing. :D

I hope not. While I strongly disagree with the OP (and am still waiting for reasons why we would want to do such a thing), I don't want people getting mean and nasty with people they disagree with.

This is just a front, he's secretly making a vast array of beautiful, special trees for loyal Bioware fans. Stanley loves his trees. Afterall, it is volusing time! Posted Image

I have to quote Shale in regards to the OP's post:

"Is anyone surprised? ANYONE?"

Asking for things at a discount or for free is not just a question, especially if the OP hails from America. It's become a way of life for most of us. Dissatisfied with a product? Return it for a refund. Don't like the meal the restaurant served you? Send it back! And heaven forbid anyone tell you you're being belligerent or unreasonable for it. In the States, people get sued for making comments like that. Of course, the customer is always right... right up until they're led out of the door in handcuffs.

Would it be nice if the company decided to include some extra content for the games they produce? Absolutely. It's an investment for them to put that content together, and one or two "extras" creates the feeling that Bioware was really trying to put out a decent product for the price. Is it necessary for them to constantly throw out incentives in order to retain their customer base? Not at all. There are reasons why a customer will remain loyal to a product or service, and very rarely do they have anything to do with how much free stuff the company is handing out.

So while there is no harm in asking for a discount and/or free stuff, there is also no point in bashing a company or service provider when the answer is "no".

lol Funny thing about that is is that Americans in general are much more willing to see businesses and business owners as good. I wonder where people got the impression we're nothing but whiners who beg for handouts and use lawsuits to settle everything?

It might've had something to do with that lady who purchased a hot drink from McDonald's for a dollar, then set it in her lap while driving, and sued the company after it spilled all over her lap and burned her. Or all those warning labels on products telling the consumer what NOT to do with the product- things that would make obvious freaking sense to anyone with half a brain cell, but apparently had to be included because a former consumer was, unfortunately, lacking the common sense required to refrain from doing something that was utterly and completely without sense- and then sued the company when the results of foresaid action weren't to their liking.

Or it could be because in any situation where more than one person is involved, the logic that usually applies to a situation where humanity isn't involved gets epically lost. Take your pick. :P

"Cool Story Bro!" -------------------------Seeing my previous comment got remove. :<

As a manager of a store, I got a lot of customer asking the same question.

"Can I have a discount?"

I understand you pay for the items you buy. But please understand this too.

A product is not free for the merchants. Nothing is free in this world, all comes with a cost.

I will happily give you a discount if you spend a lot at my store, but please, 60bucks is not "a lot".

Unless you are in the business, you know too little to presume "a lot".

But I don't speak for Bioware.

Asking for discount is not logical unless you are with Gamestop/Bestbuy/Walmart, asking for a free DLC is more probable as a Bioware fan, asking for promotion is pointless, Merchant always do promotions.

I bet Commander Shepard could convince Bioware to give us discounts

"I'm commander Shepard, and this is my favourite game developer on Earth"

Although that might backfire if he does it for every other studio on earth... NAH :D

Maybe we should stop? The OP hasn't replied even once since this nonsense started, perhaps he/she created this thread for fun to see how people would react? And certainly, look at the reactions since page 1.

And just to reinforce what others have said: Nothing is free in this world. If BW gave a discount for DA2 or something free, they would have to make up for it elsewhere, otherwise they would be loosing money. So BW, just continue with your games and DLCs, this fan of yours will still spend money to get them. :)

Ill be happy with some in game armour or something, but that should be for every new copy, like DAO, rather than loyal fans.

Yeah, I'm all for small extras. Especially as a reward for loyalty, but something that everyone can access is also good.

It might be an idea to have a small DLC for DA2 that players who already have DA:O and awakenings get for free, as a reward for loyalty.

Speaking of that I'd like a Witch Hunt Enhanced (now even with content) DLC. I think it is worth to work on it a bit and undo some of the shame that went with the rather *cough*cheap'cough* DLC.
