not sure if this has been brought up before but doesn't it seem like the names for most DAO characters have meanings behinds or have been named after a popular fantasy character?
you know the oddest things brought this up - not the typical "Morrigan's name means" or "Alistair's name means" kind of thing.
Actually I was randomly looking up "The Last Unicorn" online and was going through the Wiki for the character list when I noticed/remembered Ruhk. He was mommy Fortuna's hunchback henchman, who was later devoured by a harpy (along with mommy Fortuna).
I know this may seem waaaay waaaay off the wall but I was wondering if DAO Ruck was named after him? Aside from just looking alike (well both with brunette hunchbacks...as much as one could look alike, anyway), both were a little guileble. Smendrick was able to trick Ruhk and steal away the keys to the Unicorn's cage fairly easily and Ruck is easily taken by the Warden lady's charm (never played as male, dont know how that goes). That just had me wondering if Ruck's name wasn't based off of Ruhk, since I know the writers are big fantasy fans. Could just be a coincidence though.
Anyone else see any other parallels between NPCs (even minor ones) and their favorite fantasy book/movie/story?
