Great vids guys, just uploaded another one myself, the collector ship. Really can't believe I didn't make one back when I first made this thread considering it's always one of the more popular sections for make a video in. Any way, I swapped out GSB for medi-gel and neural shock and use it instead of incinerate unless I see tightly grouped enemies or I'm in a one on one situation. It makes it very easy to strip with Mordin and Miranda while using the drone to distract one enemy while knocking out the guy with a neural shock.

I know that warp bombing is effective but I've been doing an awful lot of that on my vanguard which is why Mordin will becoming along practically regardless of mission on my engineer vids.

Any way, here is the vid

shotgun engineer takes on the collector ship

Neural shock!
...You are my hero.

Also, that was a really close call at the very beginning of the platforms.

Ok, there's officially a glitch with the mobile scion and the drone.

I reloaded that mission and tried again the new toy there (felt more comfortable this time)

Casting a drone when the scion is moving really mess things up. And the little fella killed the big sucker with one tiny electroshock :wizard:

Disable Collector Ship - Platforms - Claymore run

I'll try to upload the rest of tonight (if my ISP feels like it)

Neural Shock.... I've been using it the entire playthrough. Is awesome. But sometimes just doesn't work....

At 0:58, there was collector drone, a bit more than half his health. I didnt do anything....
It happened again later on (in the second section of the mission)

I noticed that failed a couple of times against krogan, but since there's duration penalization against big foes, and I only had 1 point, I thought it was just wearing off too fast.

But for the DCS I have rank 3, and yet it failed twice...

EDIT: damn, i forgot to make to vid public. now is working, sorry.

Every power that can be cast on enemies has failed on me at some point or another. From pull to throw to neural shock.

Disable Collector Ship 2nd part - Claymore run

Neural shock fails again at 2:33. Almost cost Shepard's life...

That makes me wish I could use the Claymore on my shotgun Engineer... :(

I've only recently discovered how fun the weapon is on my 2nd Vanguard playthrough.

I was able to pick it up only because I changed the class loadout in coalesced.ini, so I started using it from Freedom's progress. No point waiting to the DCS to have fun ;)

Great vids Sinosleep, Huckebein and JWalker; even some Claymore Engineering :)

Finally finished my SG Engi playthrough and I must say one the most fun playthoughs so far. I still can't decide which shotgun I prefer; love all of 'm. I'm not capable enough to pull off some of the stunts like you guys, but I'll try to record a vid soon anyway. Anything improving Engi's rep is nice; knocked my head against the wall for not knowing how cool Engineering can be. Thanks for sharing all those vids.

Thank you, Boz !

Thread kinda died, but the love for Engie is more than just a fling !

I'm torn for my next playthrough between either an Agent Infiltrator and an agressive Engineer,

Does anyone have any suggestions on which powers should be maxed first? I'm planning on going Demolisher, Area overload, Area incinerate, Attack Drone, Heavy AP Ammo / Neural Shockwave, and Cryo Ammo 1. I'm thinking attack drone should be a priority, but I'm not sure after that.

P.S. My build is open to any and all criticism.

Because Engie deserves you love!  Nice vids, btw.  I also noticed you seem to love your warp explosions as you tend to take suitable squad mates....hey, I love them too!

For build and priorities, I can tell you what I did.

At low levels,

Overload (2) to unlock incinerate
Incinerate(1)
Drone(2) to unlock cryo
Cryo(1)

then (demolisher),
then incinerate (AoE version).
then attack drone

I maxed out overload last. To help you with that, you have Miranda, Kasumi and Garrus. And may not seem like it, but rank 2 with demolisher strips regular foe's shields completely for quite some time

Incinerate is good against armor, health and, although not ideal, it does hurt barriers.

The drone, well, I think the biggest difference is how often does its attack. More hit points for the little fella doesn't make a big difference on insanity

For bonus power, I used Neural Shock for the entire playthrough except for geth missions (Energy Drain)

Thank jlb !

Yes, I love the warp explosions.  I can't be apart from them !

In these last missions Jack was great. Squad warp ammo and pull every 5 seconds  is really helpful (her passive does work)
Not to mention that in Miranda's LM, Jack's line "I like her.  Are we still recruiting?" is priceless !!

I just finished a Shotgun Enineer play through, mostly because of this thread. It was all kinds of fun. I know it's not the "pure" way but I took "Dominate" as the bonus talent. At times, it feels like an all out assault, because you have a dominated enemy, a drone, and two squadmates. It's almost unfair. lol.

Seeing the last couple of videos with Neural shock as bonus. That looks fun too. I'm going to have to start a new game with that.

Neural shock is a blast and really lends itself to shotgun gameplay due to the fact that you eliminate the problem of enemies falling down behind cover which can happen when you make heavy use of NS on a ranged character.

this is how I would level mine

attack drone to 3
neural shock 4 (or whatever your bonus power is going to be since you have team mates that can max their AOE defense stripping powers before you'll get the chance to dropping them from priority IMO)
passive 4

and then whatever you want after that.

Would Neural Shock be better than GSB? I've been using GSB for a while and it's pretty good as far as bonus powers go.

I think once you get the medigel upgrades so that it restores shields as well then it's the better option to use. It's gets the job done on a shorter CD allowing you to get back to casting other powers quicker. Once you get past the pack rat mentality you realize there's TONS of the stuff lying around as well so you shouldn't really concern yourself with overuse.

Engineers NEED shotguns. They are very vunerable in close encounters otherwise.

Just played an Engineer with Shotguns/Neural shock (similar to jwalker's build)!

The fact that Drone and Neural Shock(wave) are on such short cooldowns make it really fun to pin enemies down constantly then blast em with shotties when they're distracted or unconscious.

Kudos to jwalker, sinosleep and Huckebein for your videos; a blast to watch. XD

Thank you guys for watching.  And great videos Jwalker, Sinosleep. :D  I've begun to tackle the Disabled Collector Ship just recently (respec'd with NS also this time around).

Anyway, to keep the thread rolling, here are my most recent playthrough videos:

Finishing up on Haestrom with Samara and Zaeed, with an AI Hack-centric build:

Haestrom - Part 1
Haestrom - Part 2
Haestrom - Part 3

Dantius Towers are up next, featuring Frag Grenade BP, Tali's AI Hack, and Mordin's Incinerate:

Dantius - Part 1
Dantius - Part 2
Dantius - Part 3

And finally, Disabled Collector Ship platform area videos - shotgun edition (to appease the Krogan posters :P).

Collector Platform - Scimitar version
Collector Platform - Katana version
Collector Platform - Claymore version
Collector Platform - Geth Plasma Shotgun version
Collector Platform - Eviscerator version

Awesome stuff Huckebein!

Great use of AI Hacking on Heastrom and the Dantius Towers (having your own personal Geth Destroyer scouting and burning ahead :)

Great stuff on the Collector Ship. It really shows how well designed ME2 shotguns are - all are equally useful. Personally I'm most impressed with the Claymore; it works even better on an Engineer than an Adept. I'll try to make a Claymore vid this week though I'm not sure which mission(s) - suggestions would be most welcome.

Fell asleep while this was uploading, forgot to post the link.

Cryoblast Engineer Takes on the Goon Squad

This vid shows precisely why I prefer deep cryoblast. As you can see, deep crybolast's built in AOE is more than enough when you get tightly grouped enemies and for when it's not the increased duration wins out IMO.
