I kinda imagined Celine to be a very intelligent woman, obviously used to getting what she wants and so a little spoiled, fairly charming, yet not the kind of person you want to ****** off.



Plus if this quote from Loghain: "Love or no, Cailan was going to cast my daughter aside and wed himself to that b*tch, Celene." is anything to go by I'd say she's also a bit of a b*tch. This could be simple prejudice of Loghain's part, but I don't think so.

Now there's a thought. If those two did in fact get married, would the fereldans then have a claim to Orlais' throne?

I think they might, but if there are several heirs then the kingdoms might be split between the two eldest children. but if there is a single child then they could become the Grand Emperor or High King or something. But i think something like that has happened in history a few times and neither country's inhabitants have taken to it well and rebelled.

I'll call prejudice on Loghain. But I understand where he's coming from.

Considering what we saw of Cailan, I think Ferelden becoming a province of Orlais in 1-2 generations would have been more likely than a joint kingdom. Gaider didn´t compare her to Isabel de Castilla, after all. Only reason I don´t leave him to the wolves is I have some respect for corpses.

I can´t help thinking DA2 is the reason we won´t see much of Orlais sooner. There were several hints to an expansion there.

That's right, she's the White Divine. And I suppose that Celine is more or less the most powerful political leader in Thedas, but since the Chantry seems to have religious power over pretty much EVERYONE, I would say the White Divine is even more powerful than Celine.

I think the White Divine just favors the most powerful human kingdom. What the orlesians did in Ferelden with the support of the Chantry is hard to swallow. The main priestess we saw in TST was in full support of the puppet king until he went clearly nutts. The Maker favors the strongest army, it seems.
What I mean is, the divine is probably very careful about what she does when the enemy can actually overpower her. An Exalted March against a human kingdom would probably have the other kingdoms wonder if they could be next. On the other side, someone stupid enough to plan an EM against Orzammar (only thing between DS and surface) for (relatively) minor slights  is stupid enough for everything.

The representation is so good, David actually decided to show the artwork to the designers. Who knows, maybe she'll end up looking like that. God, I hope so.
