I don't think so, there are a few optional hairstyles, not Miranda's

Yes it is possible. But it can be more trouble than its worth.
Personally I never have though.

I'm going out on a limb and say not possible. Miranda's hair (i'm willing to bet) is part of the entire single mesh that makes up Miranda. The ability for her to have long hair means that the hair is modeled along her neck and shoulders as well. There is a reason why the generic female faces have 1). no hair 2) short hair 3) buns 4) very short ponytails: less skeletal rigging.
