 So I bought jade Empire Special Edition recently, and Installed it successfully (yay me xD)

But now when I start up the game and press the "play" button...nothing really happens, yeah, there really isn't happening anything at all, no error message or anything, and then when i try to start it again i cant even open the game at all.

So I would really appreciate any help you guys could offer me.

Did you install the game in a different folder than the 'normal' one e.g. program folder?

Games need to be installed in the Game directory in Windows 7 (and Vista) for reasons best know to itself, I think. It has something to do with security...



Also, you can try rightclicking on the icon for the game on the screen (the desktop), and choose the run this game as an administrator option...



Also, do you have 64 bit version of Windows 7?

I believe I installed it in the game directory in Windows 7



and no I don't have a 64 bit version, I have a 86 bit, I don't know if there is any difference in terms of playing the game

Sorry for re-surfacing the old thread, but anyway...



Can't say I've heard about 86-bit Windows so far, so I am pretty certain that you have either a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows As for starting and playing the game under Windows 7 then I also could not play it at first - whenever I started it the game just totally crashed. But, when I right clicked on every executable file in JE folder, went to properties and set them to run in Win XP compatibility mode, they all started up without any issues and still work very well. Over a very long time I was finally able to play JE again, under Win 7 64-bit this time.
