I am curious to know, how the cutscene editor handles memory usage.

In one of my scenes, upon initial opening I have noticed the memory usage indicator states : 1.26GB.

With each subsequent change/edit done, the meter rises.

By some divine influence, for this same cutscene project,  I occassionaly check this meter and notice it can go down to 885 MB for reasons unknown to me.

I am assuming that due to the massive overload, as I preview the scene, parts of the scene become missing then return (having no bearing on the actual final outcome)

Does anyone know how the editor manages memory and how I can keep the number down as I use it?

Edit: BTW: the people/area/level dissappearing act is apparantly due to something that also has to do with memory management...since when I open up a second window which shows the area for editing (not the preview) the objects remarkably reappear, as if there is a need to render them now that the other window is open.

For memory sake I would just Fraps the cutscene in game and Bik it. That way it wouldn't put so much stress on the memory.

Thank you SilentCid. I was actually more interested in understanding how the toolset memory management actually works. Why for example, it jumps from a walloping 1.27 GB mem usage, then jump to 987 MB in the same scene, regardless of where in the scene I happen to be located (timeline) at the moment. I couldn't find the answer to this to date.
