Hi Everyone,

The replacement Lithographs are printed and waiting to be signed. If you're were damaged and you havent received your replacements yet they will be sent out once we receive them.

Based on the outstanding replacements I beleive that we'll have some additional Normandy Lithographs left over. Instead of simply putting them back on the site I an considering starting a list for people who didn't get a lithograph during the release and would like one and doing a random drawing. This is not finalized or confirmed, but I'd like to have an many collectors get a chance as possible.

Thanks,
J

Sounds like a plan, good thinking.

I think that's fair, assuming the drawing is for the right to buy rather than for free ones like the ones that came with the Normandy (which is hypocritical considering I got one yes, but I would have been fine with the right to pay for it). Especially if there's a bunch of these, it just doesn't seem entirely fair to give them out for free.

Yep that's fair and I'm happy for it to be right-to-buy too. If your list goes ahead, please put my name down and I'll leave it up to Lady Luck to see if I get a Normandy or not.

I would like this.

The Normandy litho was the first litho that I attempted to buy, but unfortunately the bioware store simply refused to accept my credit card for some unknown reason and so I was out of luck at the time.
Hopefully better luck this time.

How do you have leftovers if you had to print more for replacements? Are you reprinting the ones that people destroyed but have already had replaced by one with different numbers? Or something else?

Just curious.

1. A person gets a damaged Litho - destroys it and sends proof.
2. Jedi receives data - numerical, visual proof of destroyed Litho...sends off alternate replacement.
3. Jedi retains several extra, pre-printed, unsigned, Normandy Litho's - sends set number of Lithos and specifics off to be indivdually numbered and signed by artists. (the process that is currently in the works)
4. Newly signed backups/clones can now be sold...Profit!

(#3 Mathmatics - There were 500 signed Lithos...Hypothetically, lets say all were sold except 25 that were held up by Jedi for replacements.  But lets say that 50! were damaged in transit, destroyed by the customer, and the pictures were reviewed and approved by Jedi.  So of the 50 destroyed Litho's, only 25 got immidiately replaced by those Jedi kept back, and another 25 are needed...but Jedi is having those 50 destroyed Lithos remade - 25 of which will be used as replacements, making the other 25 available to purchase...  simplisticly, (25 - 50) + 50 = 25)

Really, its a genius plan - in the end, everyone should get a mint condition Litho, without flooding ebay with over-expensive, damaged Litho's that the original buyer basically got for free...and Bioware Store is able to sell the maximum amount of Litho's at a reasonable price, as apposed to giving away replacements, while controlling any risk of 'duplication' by requiring the destruction of the damaged original (which for all intents and purposes should be exactly the same as the cloned Litho that has been made)...

...this is all assuming i know what the hell I'm talking about...

True, if they are indeed reprinting/signing the destroyed lithos that have already replaced.  They in fact are making even more money by selling some of the lithos twice while still staying within the original 500 limit.  Though thats not very kind to the people who had their original replaced by an alternate higher number litho.  While some are getting a new litho with the same numbers, they recieved a higher number replacement and now their original lower one is being resold to someone else.

It sounds like your accusing Bioware Store of ripping people off...they are not making more money by 'selling Litho's twice'...they are saving money by not giving away two Litho's for the price of one, if one is damaged...big difference.  Now are they technically making more money? Sure...but its more fair now to say that there reaching the 500 print limit...in the past, it was more like they were selling 325/400 and giving away 75...  ...besides, the Store is still paying for the shipping for the replacement, which is still causing them to loose money...

You're assuming they would get a higher number - that Jedi held back #476-500 (to use my above example).  What if the opposite is true and they will actually be getting a lower number?

You're also putting quite a bit of meaning into the numerical value which is a fickle thing.  Statistically, the number you receive compared to when you ordered it (depending how fast or slow you were) has been fairly random in the past, so saying that someones getting cheated by getting a higher number is inconsequential.  And besides, even though you get a specific number, you are not ordering that specific number - you are just ordering 1 of the 500 - in short, I think your expectations are a bit high to be demanding the exact number that you originally received...     ...and for all I know, that could be exactly how Jedi is doing it and he just doesn't want to sell off the few he held up until everyone who had a damaged Litho gets there replacement.

I can speak from experience, we are not getting lower numbers. I went from mid-40s to late 300s.

...as unfortunate as that is, I'd personally just be happy with the fact that (1) I own a mint Normandy Litho and (2) I took a ~350 numerical drop instead of a hypothetical ~450 drop.

Thanks for the shot at getting a normandy litho since I didn't get a chance to get one during the sale.

Once you get past the first 100, it doesn't matter what number you have. And the replacements I got weren't even mint, I just didn't complain again because I didn't want to seem like a total ass.

I was not accusing that, I was simply breaking it down alittle more.  Of course technically they are making more sales but all of those sales would go towards covering the replacement costs.

As for the other part of my post it is all speculation on my part anyways.  Personally I would be upset to recieve a higher number replacement then have my original lower be resold.  From my memory, everyone who commented on recieving a replacement recieved a higher number.  The whole number importance is specific to each person and the fact that it is random what # we get no matter when you order makes a lower number even more desirable to me.

If I had gone from #260 to #310, I wouldn't care at all. But to go from 40s to 300s sucks. Some people always whine and say that number doesn't matter, but nobody can tell me with a straight face that they would take #337 over #9 if they were both available at the same price.

I hope the drawing happens just so I don't have people making up stories again about how I bought all of them and flipped them on ebay, then gave the profits to Al-Qaeda and double-punched a puppy and a baby.

I really want a Normandy; I approve of this plan. It's just that, as word gets out about this, there could be a very large list of people. I'd almost feel I have a better chance spamming f5 than rolling a 300 sided die. Also, I think humans just like to be close to #1, and low numbers are close to 1. I have lithos in the entire spectrum, and I don't care at all about the numbers compared to the art.

The number doesn't, and probably never will, make a difference. Yeah, it's cool to have a low number, but it's not like you're missing out for having 273 instead of 28.

I think it's a great idea to offer folks that missed out a chance to get one, but I can see it also sucking if you miss out on the random draw. I guess you could always check the history and just cancel the orders of people that already got one if you put it up on sale.
