Got an idea for an interesting character?
Want to share the character with the modding community?
Think your character could win a prize?

...Then enter the third Dragon Age Community Contest, the Character Contest!

Its a great way to try out the Toolset for the very first time, with video tutorials walking you through step by step how to create a head morph, give it to a new creature, write a conversation and test it all in the game! You can even add voiceover if you're feeling plucky ;) Check out the helpful links on the contest page - its easier than you might think!

Organisers are on hand to help out, and your character will be available for other modders to throw into their modules - so you may even see your character make an appearance in somebody's playable module!

Every valid entry gets a point, which can be built up over time to exchange for prizes such as DLC, Bioware Merchandise, Amazon vouchers, and community time contributions such as scripting and modelling help and voice acting!

Be sure to join the group and let us know you're participating!

Please bump this thread if you'd like to ensure your fellow fanficcers and creative types see the contest. Maybe even pester them to create their characters in DAO! I'm expecting good things from you guys, don't let me down ;)

Hm.... now I need to come up with a character that isn't part of my module...

they can be part of your module, thats fine - so long as they fulfil the criteria (have a few lines for "generic" stuff like merchant and questgiver as well as more interesting characterful stuff), its not a problem!

You're probably not in the right forum for this. I think you'll get a better response in the toolset forum. This is for artistic works, not toolset projects.

Firky had a good idea for a character - Andre (I think that was the Tranquil's name?).  Now she just has to figure out how he would look, and she'd be set for this contest.

 :wizard:

Perhaps other people had good ideas for characters too that have been floating around in their head as we are all rather creative people here....I hardly ever look at the toolset forums, so I wouldn't have known about this contest at all but now that I do...Hmmm.....

The contest deadline is only 2 weeks away!

I see so many fanfics with characters derived from the game - now is a good chance to create their faces in the toolset, give them a conversation and share them with the community. You could even capture a short video with that character in-game, speaking the lines you've written for him/her and have it as part of your fanfic while still earning points to buy DLCs and other great stuff!

Feel free to post any toolset-related help in the Toolset General Discussions Forum and I'm sure someone would be able to help you realize that character you've written so much about.
