Whats the pros and cons of both of these? I know I plan on doing Templar as well with my Warrior just not sure which way to go with him.
Sword and Shield Warrior or Dual-Wield?

S&S is defensive in nature, but rather dull in play. There are 4 active shield talents, but none for the weapon. Generally I use Precise Strike as my main offensive boost outside of specs.
DW is a lot more interactive, and adding runes can make up for some of the lost defense.

I just can not seem to remember if any of the Templar abilities require a shield?

I prefer dual wielding -- it also allows for quicker kills

I do not know if the first Templar ability works with a shield or not; believe mana is drained with weapon dmg only, but uncertain.

Does anyone have a character that is a Templar? lol

I do -- I can't really remember though
I don't think it does require a shield because its magic-based. Like 'cleanse area' and protection of the mind.

Neither can I. I remember one of the abilities was like an AoE I think...I can't remember! lol
I am just curious if Templar will be okay for a Dual-Wield warrior?

DW Templar does great. Holy Smite stuns the enemy mage giving you enough time to charge in, knock him down with a War Cry and Flurry him to death with both weapons. The Templar AoE's are great for creating separation from the mobs.

Whats another good class to go with a dual-wielding warrior?

Berserker is good for dual-wielding.

well as much as I think its unbalanced to say this, if you want to have the most damage attruibted from your group when you quest, I say dual wielding warrior, they are they can give the most criticals and and attacking at really fast rates, (if you do it right) they can be the toughest and most elusive warriors to to get hit on the battle field. I had me a dual wielding warrior, she was also a templar champion, you don't need a specific weapon to fight a certain subclass, some helps more then others, but for the most part, you can use any weapon. Its kinda weird, a warrior dual wielding warrior is hybrid of tank and a killer mow machine, that rips through, just about anything. Of course burning thorugh your stamina quicky is a con, and the fact you need to use alot of dexterity at times instead of strength (well you can skill in both if you wanted) makes me wonder if dual wielding should of been kept for rogues. But nevertheless, if you favor a fighting style that emphaizes on using stuns and attacking with alot of damage. I say dual warrior
But if you prefer a classic tank character, that uses alot of knockback and being able to better crowd control your enemies, I say the shield. They can dish out some good damage, despite the notion they are "more of defense characters" since they fight with a shield

berserker is good, but it bad for your stamina, since you burn through it quickly enough. I may say champion, it gives you a knockback power, since you're given mostly stun powers to begin with, sure stuns are great, but if you're in a tight spot and surronded by enemies, a knockback power can help having better crowd control of your enemies. It wil at least help balance out your character. Its either that, or Templar, it has one too, and you get to better take out the mana of a annoying mage. But than again, templar is good for any class. Plus dual wielding dishes out alot of damage anyway, being a berserker, its not really needed, but still that combination, if you play it right....., can be lethal

Go with B/T or B/C. You want Berserker because it will considerably increase your DPS. Then run Templar if you feel like you need an anti-mage capability (unnecessary if you run Mana Clash), but if not, take Champion. If you run B/C, you'll likely rely more on auto-attacking than normal.
I'd go with DW personally. The lack of activated talents for S&S (AoE talents to boot) makes it rather boring to me and less effective.

DW C/T that's my warrior of choice. He's particularly effective in multi mage conflicts as well as tanking boss mobs while your crew cleans up the riff raff.. and damage is just plain gruesome if you have the have aquired Maric's Blade and Duncan's sword. Save that Star metal to make a two hander for Sten and you have a virtual slaughterhouse. Zev is also a good second melee if you remember to position so he is backstabbing.
Sword and board is as mentioned by the others, a bit boring. Two hander can devastating, but suffers from slow down effects.

I am a big 2h enthusiast and I don't remember suffering from slow down effects
The biggest problem with 2h warriors is that they only become powerful relatively late in the game. But then they are awesome without a doubt.

Well going dual-wield. So far its good. I hit better than everyone else and I can take a decent amount of damage as well. Every level I put 1 in STr and 2 in Dex until I hit 36 dex and after that all 3 are going into STR.

If you are planning to tank with your dual wielder you may want a little more dex than that to boost your defense. I built a dw "tank" by leveling up 2x str and 1x dex and had a lot of success with that. Also I spec'd Alistair for dual wielding too since he wouldn't be taking many hits and therefor would not really need a shield. Ended up using double axes(Veshaile + bloodline) on my PC and double swords on Alistair(keening + topsiders). I loaded up with physical and spell resist runes(since I was using 2 full sized weapons I mostly spammed auto attacks) to compensate for the lack of knockdown and stun immunity(which 2h warriors and S+S warriors can get). This was a great build in that you have high defense, can wear the best armor(high str), and do tons of aoe damage(almost a ridiculous amount of damage later on...). I went champion/reaver for the aoe knockdown and reaver fear move(also makes taunt/threaten better). My other companions were Morrigan(arcane war spec so she could wear dragonscale armor for mana regen - but she was my healer) and Leliana(archer spec). Beat the game easily on nightmare with this. Hope that helps
