Got the same issue - and no save left from before. Any idea when there'll be a fix for this?

As I've said before: BIOWARE. Make a SAVE GAME REPAIR TOOL. Something that scans saved games and repairs all DLC bugs/corruption as well as other problems above. Give the repair tool options that people can check to repair like "Repair DLC content", "Fix disguise armor" and other things... people should NOT have to lose 20+ hrs of game play, restart the game, etc. Bioware FAILED to properly beta test/test the game on the PC as well as the DLC. It's Bioware's responsibility to patch the game prevent these things from happening and coming up with a solution (FAST) to repair corrupted save games

Issue is now a week old with no further reply from BioWare. I have 30 hours of lost gameplay here. No updates?

Expecting a patch after a week is ridiculous. Try delete the armor in the toolset?

This is a major error that should have been caught. this would be the third time i have to start from scratch because of a glitch.

i can understand the minor glitches, for examples i had to break up with Zevran twice in a row and lose some big approval points, because i am a total **** and i broke Zevran's heart doubly hard, but i do not have to restart a new game for that.

however something told me to save the game at lands meet. now from what i understand i have to redo the rescue mission - again.

From what i understand, to avoid this glitch this time, i have to tell Morrigan that she can't cast any big spells on any closed doors -- that's pretty lame. if i did not have that saved game i would be demanded my money and time back. if this does not fix it i am going to be really upset. >(

I was strongly considering buying Warden's Keep (I already have shale from the collectors addition) but seeing something lame like this can happen and destroying allot of peoples games including mine i don't want to risk adding more glitch filled content.

The problem with deleting the armor is that I can't recover what I had on before. This issue has been noted longer then a week too. I think it was finally responded to a week ago.

I just encountered the same issue.

After listening to the script when caught trying to escape with the queen, I ran my party back out of the room and down the corridor. I quickly took care of the few guards that followed and then went back to the room to deal with the archers/mage that remained behind.

I seems if you're able to survive the encounter and avoid being taken to prison, you're stuck with the armour.

Bleh.

(even more so because I also find myself without a save ...)

I know this might sound dickish, but (and I'm saying it couse some of you falk of multitude of game stopping bugs) i think most of us (at least considering the number of difirent posters in here) didn't have such problems. On basis of that i conclude that some unsual and rare set of circumstances is cousing that bug. If thats true it would be a but unfair to be calling them out for supposed lack of testing (I myself didnt encounter any major bug). I understand its very frustrating (i feel pretty riled up about the whole Windows XP Service Pack 3 fiasco - my wireless keeps acting up, and I cant play many of SP3 games including Mass Effect, amongst other problems).

Btw my fake guard armor was removd when i went into dungeon of Arl Howe's estate (when i entered and one of the guards called my bluff), thats way before you attempt of escape with the queen. Atho if getting cought with the queen helps, use it as a work around temporary solution. Beacouse the diffirence in what happens in storry as far is i tried were pretty much inconsiquential (altho i there might be a proble further down the line that i fried (i tried both versions to the point where you escape from dungeon and get back to Arl Eamon, but in the end i abused AI guards tendency to stay in their starting room and killed that lutenant without her guards).

Gee.. Edwind it is really great that you did not have any problem with the game. thanks for the helpful posting.
This glitch applies to those of us who like to cast a mass area of effect spell to weaken and draw in our enemies.

I went through it this time with out using any area of effect spells and managed to avoid the glitch. I believe it is caused when you first enter the dungeon. you are suppose to have some dialog with the guards at the beginning who relieve your true appearance. they start off as red; if you cast a mass area of effect spell and draw them in you miss this and you are stuck in your guard armor.
there might be one other way to correct this if you have a save after have gone through the dungeon. back track room down the hall to where the guard and maid are messing around. he should reveal you.
if you are stuck an at even later save. i think you are squewed. and unless you have an earlier save.

I wonder how many of you will tolerate going back and redoing 20+ hours of game play. i know i wouldn't.

Why is it that you always can sum up the support awnsers with: "Too bad, but its you're problem. Why not just replay those 40 hours instead of bothering us?"

For the people &*#$@ing too much, use the console command as suggested at the beginning of the thread. You don't need to replay.

For the people who wont B#$%% at all, Bite Me. Many of us turned off autosave to try and lessen the increasing load times bug only to run into this bug and not have a save to go back too. It sucks so let us vent.

A thought occurs, this could be avoided if they did what they did with some major boss NPCs, have them neutral until after the conversation so you can't AoE them. You can't screw it up if you aren't allowed to hurt them till you have the conversation which removes your armor.

I've seen this kinda quest progression safeguard in plenty of games before, & it tends to work well. I vote for this idea! Posted Image

Yeah... been trying to just pick up from my safe save 20 hours prior to the bug. Totally lost interest.

Don't think I'll be touching the game until a fix has been made.

Console command doesn't do a thing to bring back four character's worth of equipment and armour that I spent 60+ hours collecting. Thanks.

I found a bit of a work around. The disguise-armour swapping script also runs when you encounter certain people inside Arl Howe's estate, e.g. the guard who's... being intimate with a woman in one of the rooms past where the Queen was being held captive. You can use the console to go back to the plot flag where you first enter the Arl's Estate and make your way to that guard. You may need to either sneak or fight your way through a few spawned hostiles. Then again, considering how you're already using the console, might as well use godmode. The disguise might not come off despite the trigger setting off but you can then use runscript zz_economizer to remove all of your equipment (you'll see that your original equipment was put back into your inventory).

Some problems with this: if you already triggered the guard-being-intimate event, he won't be there. I don't know of any other events in the estate where your disguise is cancelled out, but looking around might be worth it.

Also, I've noticed that runscript zz_economizer doesn;t seem to work perfectly. In my case, Morrigan was still wearing her guard gloves and boots even though everything else was stripped from her. Maybe finding another event trigger where the disguise is cancelled off will work, dont know.
