It's disappointing there is no response at all. Even a message to tell us they are aware of this issue and are trying to fix it would be nice, since we are customers and all...

Bad.... real bad.... I am so dissapointed that there is no fix to this bug. After 124:12 hrs of play ( yes I did leave it on for some nights...) After getting all those Swweeeett armors from Wade and the dragon scales and aaaaarrrrrrgghhh now stuck with guard armors... pardon me but that suckkks!

And don't come and tell me well use your saves bla bla bla hey I have the right to save whenever I feel like it AND the game auto-saves so I should not have to think about saving b4 unrecoverable bugs that I don't know about happens.

I have bought the collectors edition and I was just thrilled to finally get to the end and get the expansion coming but guess what!? I don't feel like starting the whole thing over, can't get to finish the game with so bad armors on. Too bad I loved the game but I will NOT get the expansion anymore.

Ok... I think this might be the final straw for me. I've put up with the tedious combat, cutscenes that defeat all attempts at preparatory tactics, silly handling of inventory, and a host of poor design choices at every stage, and now this? How did this not come up during playtesting?

*shakes head in profound disappoinment*

Time to get back to building modules for NWN... ;-)

1 or 2?

Know what you mean, though. There are things I like in this game, but there are plenty I don't. Two or three of the design decisions almost literally staggered me. *shrug* After issues with this game, after ME1, it's not my wallet's problem anymore.

I had the same problem, but I dont think any of the solutions listed work for me. I went through this quest, and had the dialogue in the dungeon that re-equipped my characters armor, but then when I appeared in Fort Drakon, and broke out, the chest containing my gear had everything....except the gear I had equipped before being captured. All my other characters are fine, and have their gear back. Only my main character is missing his gear, and returning to the Arl's Estate does nothing.

KarmicToast woot thanks that solved one of many problems. You would think after a damn year that those techno-illiterates would fix the missing armor issue...but to no avail they don't give a buffalo dump. Again thx

I had the same problem (AOE'ing through that first door downstairs).

Ended up having to replay back to talking with the Arl since I burned all my AutoSaves looking at the different combos of my friends coming to break me out.

Took out my vengance on all the guards. Came back up from the dungeon in my nice armor and killed everyone in the castle.

I got all the armour back and the weaponry as well and it equipped but I noticed that it didn't equip the weaponry quite correctly so I ended up just doing it manually from the inventory.

Just in case any devs are reading this (pretty slim chance right?) I'd like to just state that this bug is the reason I quit playing Dragon Age and why I'm not buying any of the DLC.

There you have it!

Add me to the list having this problem. Already tried the developer console thing and have been warping to different plot points, yet here I'm still wearing the cursed guard armor. This bug really sucks bigtime.

guys,

i have a fix that i would like to suggest for this problem. for it to work 2 thing need to happen.

1) you have killed arl howe but not have opened anora's door.

2) past anora's room on the way to the dungeon, there is a room on the side of the corridor, where a maid is giving BJ (looks like it anyways) to a guard. its the room where vaughan's chest is located. the guard must be alive (u havent talked to him)

now simply walk p and talk to him, he'll sound the alarm, and attack you and the game will remove the guard armor and replace with your own.

try it out and see if it works.

works like a charm as long you keep a saved game - auto or normal slot - inside the estate.

Maybe it'd be good to to have a small community patch wich simply triggers the original script

(replaces the disguise with the player gained armor) - for those with a save slot cleanup cuckoo ;)

This stinks. I have it as well and will have to go to a previous save if I want to get my Helm of Honnleath and the armor from Song of Lelianna back. Trouble is, the save is at the tail end of the Circle quest and I'm going to have to repeat a lot of stuff I don't want to.

I had an earlier save and have interrupted the Guard and his girl several times trying to get my armor back and each time it signals that I have new items in inventory but nothing's there and I stay in the bloody disguise armor.

Come on, Bioware! Fix the bug!

This game is on the shelf now until I see Steam download a fix for this bug. I was really enjoying the game and I could tell I was getting close to the end. I'll just have to wait for Mass Effect 2 so I can play a new RPG.

Saying that is precisely why BioWare will continue to produce products with game-breaking bugs in them.  Why would they fix them if you just told them you'll buy their next game anyway?

I say just stop buying their games and let them see how it feels when they take their loyal customers money and don't even make an attempt at trying to address the huge amount of issues in their products.

Remember, Bioware has the largest beta testing community in the gaming industry. The customers!
If I recall, there seemed to be a large Fixpack for BG2 that dealt with all the issues Bioware wouldn't bother with, so why on earth would anyone expect them to change their business model for this game? If the game will load, it's ready for release. Any bugs encountered by the beta testers(aka customers) can be fixed by said customers using the toolkit.

Said customers will keep buying defective software and complaining but still will line up for the next release.
P.T. Barnum was right.

Another one there, 47 hours played to now find this ****. It shouldn't be too hard just to add a "de-equip disguise" dialogue option when talking to Anora's maid, really... I got the Ultimate Edition via Steam so I don't really want to start experimenting on the game console only to find that my account may be closed for "cheating"... so for the time being I'll just wait or maybe even re-start with a different character, at least so not everything will be exactly the same... (BTW, my last save point is just at the exit of the dungeon, the guard with the maid is still alive, but triggering that event doesn't make the disguise dissappear...)

holy ****ing ****. ive dealt with two other major bugs since i bought this game just to get my dlc to work and avoid the continuous crashing. Now i wish i had read the forums before buying the game, how can they get away with game breaking issues such as this.

This is just unbelievable, the game is unstable, crashes half the time I cast Mana Clash, and now this? I have to go back and replay more than 2 hours of play due to such a stupid bug? C'mon...

Great, all auto-saves and the quick-save either directly before the fight with Ser Cauthrien or after it. Tried the console command to unequip the items and blow my cover: it just equipped the armor again. Also, the savegame causes a buffer overflow ("out of memory") in the Dragon Age Toolset.

EPIC FAIL Bioware. Thanks for destroying our savegames... Will there be a patch or can we uninstall the game?
