I have a question. Does this game lock you from transfering saves from one system to another? Mass effect 1 let you do it. But when i tried testing it with my buddys game it would NOT let me move the saves over to a USB stick or xbox memory card.

Im hoping i was doing something wrong. I dont see any reason to keep you from moving saves and honestly it may be enough to keep me from getting the game. I was already on the fence after the terrible release of Dragon age (it NEVER got patched), and now if the saves are locked to the system you play the game on intialy that would just totally suck

I have a 360 elite i bought several months back after my old one died, and plan on buying a 360 slim down the road. If i cant transfer my saves im just boned. So are a lot of people whos system just dies on them. I've actually come across a few games that do this and i honestly dont understand what the heck the point is. The days of the PS2 where everything was on a memory card were so much better IMO. Whats the point of a HD if you cant move your data.

So can anyone fill me in on what the deal is here? Was i doing somethign wrong or does the game just not allow you to move your data for some idiotic reason?

I've transferred saves using an HD transfer cable.

The MS one? if im not mistaken thats only for transfering every single piece of data from one HD to another, and then it wipes the old HD. Is that right? If so thats hardly an ideal solution. Plus that costs like 20 bucks

Is that the only option or is there some other way? I dont get why the data would be locked. Especially when this games suposed to span 3 games. You'd think bioware would want to make it easy to back up and move around

Yes what about his story????

In ME1 I was able to save a game savefile onto my Xbox 360 HD and Memory unit, just for backup. In ME2 i don't have this option.... WHY. now I have to save my first play on the HD and second play on the memory unit!!!!! If i loose either the HD or memory unit my savefile is gone.... No option to backup...

So EA/BIOWARE/ME TELL US WHY THIS ISN'T POSSIBLE!!!!??

Maybe it's something about achievements. But yeah, I have the same issue. Some explanation would be nice, if this is intentional, an overlook or we should blame it on Microsoft. :P

i wrote the game off after hearing this, but picked it up because its 17 bucks. I guess i'llgive it a shot

Id really like to know though, if Pacifien or anyone can confirm that the only way to transfer a save is with a microsoft HD cable (which is terrible. that only transfers all the data on the HD, not just the ME one and it will wipe your hd afterwards!) . If so then like Arua says theres no way to back up your saves at all. And if your 360 dies before ME3 your kinda screwed.

I really dont understand why they would lock the data. Can anyone confrim this? What email can i use to actually contact bioware and find an answer to this, because its really disconcerting and i see no benefit to locking the data.

I miss the old PS2 games where you had your data on a memory card. I actually dont like this new era of Hard drive gaming, because you wind up with all kinds of problems like this
